CENTER VALLEY, Pa. -- It was announced earlier this week that Navy's Carly Meyer (Sr., Orlando, Fla.) was selected as the Patriot League Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the period ending Dec. 3.
Meyer averaged 25.5 points and 5.5 rebounds a game in Navy's two contests Nov. 28 at Long Island and Dec. 1 at Saint Francis (Pa.). In the latter game against the Red Flash, she tallied 28 points, eight boards, five blocked shots and four steals. Her five blocks were the most recorded by a Mid in 12 years and was just one block shy of tying the school record.
In the two games since earning the accolade, the second of her career, Meyer averaged 9.5 points and 8.5 rebounds a game against Georgetown and UMBC.
The Mids will return to action Dec. 18 when Navy plays at North Carolina A&T.
