WEST POINT, N.Y. - Navy women's track & field senior team captain Kirsten Andrews (New Holland, Pa.) won two events and place second in another to lead the Midshipmen to a 107-73, N-Star victory at Army in Gillis Field House on Saturday afternoon.

The Midshipmen won 12 of the 17 events in finishing the regular season with a 7-0 record, their second-consecutive undefeated indoor season. The Mids have won seven of the last-nine N-Star meets, while the 34-point margin of victory is Navy's largest since a 113-68 win during the 1999-00 season. With the loss, the Black Knights dropped to 1-3 on the year.

"I am exceptionally proud of our team," stated Navy head coach Carla Criste. "A good majority of our women posted career bests today. They competed with 100% effort and focus, which is perfect heading into the Patriot League Championship back here in West Point in two weeks. I'm looking forward to continue the success we had today."

Andrews opened her afternoon by tying the school record in the 60-meter hurdles, winning the event with a time of 8.72 seconds. Her ECAC-qualifying mark matched the mark classmate Danielle Still (Lawnside, N.J.) set at the 2004 ECAC Championship. Andrews also etched her name into the record books in the long jump, winning the event with the school's third-longest distance of 18'8-3/4" (5.71 meters). The Navy team captain also placed second in the pole vault with a clearance of 10'10" (3.30 meters). Over her career, she has combined to win nine events during indoor and outdoor N-Star meets, six of which have come since the start of her junior year.

Senior Loni Forsythe (Chattanooga, Tenn.) broke Navy's school record in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.59 seconds. Her effort on Saturday was 0.08-second faster than her previous school-record mark she set at the 2004 ECAC Championship. The senior placed second in the 200-meter dash with a career-best 25.34-second clocking, the fourth-best time in program history.

Junior Jacquelyn Charnigo (Medina, Ohio) registered a pair of field event victories for the Midshipmen. Charnigo won the pole vault with an ECAC-height of 11'9-3/4" (3.60 meters) and topped the field with a clearance of 5'3" (1.60 meters) in the high jump.

Senior Erin Demchko (Pearl River, N.Y.), junior Stefanie Peskosky (Charlotte, N.C.) and junior Vicki Moore (Burke, Va.) each won an event and helped win the 4x800-meter relay. Demchko paced the field in the mile run with a time of 5:09.30, followed by Peskosky's first-place, career-best time of 2:17.45 in the 800-meter run and Moore's ECAC-qualifying time of 2:56.44 in the 1,000-meter run. Moore, senior Caitlin Rummel (Falmouth, Mass.), Peskosky and Demchko teamed up for a 9:35.87 showing to win the final track event of the afternoon.

Sophomore Meg Joyce (West Kingston, R.I.) opened the meet by winning the 20-pound weight throw with a toss of 45'6-1/4" (13.87 meters), three feet longer than the second-place throw from Army. Junior Jessica Orr (New Holland, Pa.) out-ran the field in the 400-meter dash with a career-best time of 58.95 seconds and senior Justine Whipple (Duxbury, Mass.) posted a first-place clocking of 10:06.23 in the 3,000-meter run.

Navy will return to West Point in two weeks to compete in the 2007 Patriot League Indoor Track & Field Championship in Gillis Field House on Feb. 16-18. The Midshipmen placed third in last year's league championship held in Halsey Field House.
