CENTER VALLEY, Pa. -- A career-high 27 points against Bucknell and a scoring average of 20.0 points per game on the week helped Navy's Margaret Knap (Sr., Chicago, Ill.) earn Baden Player-of-the-Week honors from the Patriot League, it was announced Monday by the league office. This is the first weekly accolade from the Patriot League of Knap's career and Navy's second of the 2006-07 campaign (Carly Meyer, Dec. 4).

Knap's 27-point outburst came this past Saturday as she connected on 11-of-19 field goal attempts (57.9%), sank a trio of three-point field goals and was 2-of-2 from the foul line against the Bison. In addition, the senior grabbed three rebounds and dished out a trio of assists in the game.

The 27 points tied the Navy record for the most points scored by a Mid in the series with Bucknell, a series dating back to the 1981-82 season.

Her previous career high of 22 points was set earlier this season against UMBC.

Knap also had a strong outing earlier in the week against Winston-Salem State. She scored 13 points, made three three-point field goals, tied a career-high with four assists and hauled in six caroms as the Mids defeated the Lady Rams.

For the week, Knap shot 44.1 percent from the field (15-of-33) and 42.8 percent from behind the three-point arc (6-of-14), while averaging 4.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists a game.

She has scored 10 or more points in nine of her 19 games this season and has surpassed 20 points on four occasions. Knap has made at least one three-point field goal in 14-straight games and in 16 games on the year.
