ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The broadcast schedule for the upcoming Navy men's and women's basketball regular season includes a combined eight games that will be televised, over 30 games that will be aired locally by Annapolis radio station WNAV-AM 1430 and over 50 games that will feature either audio or audio and video streaming over the internet.

The 2008-09 season for both programs begins this weekend with the two teams in action locally on both Nov. 14 and Nov. 16. The women's team will open its season by playing host to Ohio Friday night at 7 p.m., with the men's team in action at Towson at the same time. Sunday afternoon the men's team will play host to Howard in the team's home opener at 1 p.m., while the women's team will play at Howard in a game tipping off at 2 p.m.

The Navy men's team will have five games televised this year, with the women's program appearing on television three times. The men's slate of televised games includes Dec. 7 against Virginia Tech in Washington, D.C. (Mid-Atlantic Sports Network), Jan. 10 vs. Bucknell (ESPNU), Jan. 25 at Army (ESPNU), the Feb. 21 Army-Navy Star Game (CBS) and Navy's Feb. 25 game at American (CBS College Sports). Navy women's games to be televised are the Dec. 3 game at UMBC (MASN), Jan. 3 at Air Force (The Mountain West Sports Network) and Jan. 24 at Army (ESPNU).

All Navy home games, all Navy road Patriot League games and select road non-conference games can also be either listened to or viewed by subscribers to Navy All-Access. Additionally, a select number of men's games will be aired by Sirius Satellite Radio (schedule announced weekly by the network), with WFED-AM 1050 in Washington, D.C. broadcasting 11 men's games, as well.

This is the most extensive multimedia offering Navy has made available to fans in order to showcase the basketball programs.

A broadcast schedule for Navy's Patriot League Tournament games will be announced at the end of the regular season once the tournament pairings, sites and game times have been determined.
