Navy Looks to Continue Winning Ways With Return to the Lehigh Valley to Face Lafayette
• Winners of five games in a row, the 13-4 Navy men's basketball team will return to the Lehigh Valley for a 1:00 pm Saturday tilt against Lafayette (5-11 / 1-1) at the Kirby Sports Center in Easton, Pa. Pete Medhurst will handle the call on WNAV (1430 AM), beginning with the Navy basketball pregame show at 12:45 pm.
• Navy returns to the Lehigh Valley just three days after defeating Lehigh, 63-58, on Wednesday night. A win over Lafayette on Saturday would give Navy its third straight road sweep of the Lehigh Valley schools (Lehigh and Lafayette). Navy has played both Lehigh and Lafayette on the road in back-to-back games in each of the last three years.
• In Wednesday's win over Lehigh, Adam Teague drilled a deep three-pointer with 3.5 seconds left to break open a tie game, and Chris Harris connected on two free throws off a Lehigh technical foul to give the Mids a 63-58 victory. Kaleo Kina (18), Harris (13), Teague (12) and Mark Veazey (10) all scored in double figures.
• Lafayette enters Saturday's game with a 5-11 overall mark and a 1-1 Patriot League record. The Leopards defeated Colgate, 69-62, on Wednesday night at home. After the two teams were tied for the 13th time at 50 each with 6:22 to play, Lafayette outscored the Raiders, 19-12, down the stretch for the win. Ryan Willen, Jared Mintz and Andrew Brown combined for 39 points.

• Navy is 2-0 in league play for the first time since the 2000-01 season. Navy has opened 2-0 in league play four other times (in 18 years). In years that Navy started 2-0 in league play, the Mids finished 5th, T-1st, 1st and 2nd.
• Navy is looking for its first 3-0 start in league play since the 1997-98 season. Navy has started 3-0 in league play just twice before (1997-98, 1995-96).
• Navy is 5-4 in games away from Annapolis this year. The Mids won their first Patriot League road opener in nine years (1999-00).
• Navy is sporting its second winning streak of at least five games. The Mids' current five-game run comes on the heels of a seven-game streak (Nov. 16 to Dec. 5).
• Navy's 11 non-conference wins equaled the most for the program since joining the Patriot League in 1991-92. The 1998-99 and 1999-00 teams also won 11 non-conference games.
• Navy is 8-0 at home this year, and the eight-game winning streak is the fourth-longest streak in Alumni Hall history.
• The Mids are 8-1 in games decided by five points or less. Navy's five wins during its current winning streak have come by a combined 19 points.
• Two of the three top scorers in the Patriot League wear Navy uniforms. Kaleo Kina leads the league at 19.5 ppg, and Chris Harris is third at 15.8 ppg. In addition, Adam Teague is 13th at 10.9 ppg.
