• 2009 Occoquan Challenge Results

FAIRFAX, Va. - Navy posted the top-three times in the championship four race to highlight its performance at the Occoquan Challenge at the 5,000-meter Sandy Run State Park course on Sunday afternoon.

The Midshipmen won the race with a time under 15:45, while their second boat crossed the finish line in 15:45.0167 and their third vessel completed the course in 15:48.8500. Navy also finished fifth with a time of 16:15.1233 and sixth with a 16:52.4200 clocking.

In the championship eight race, Navy posted two of the top-three times. The Midshipmen placed second with a 14:11.3433 clocking, only 2.31 second behind champion Virginia, and also placed third with a 14:23.6033 showing. Navy also finished fifth with a time of 14:48.7490, sixth with a 14:57.4667 clocking and eighth with a 15:04.5040 performance.

The Midshipmen will return to action next Saturday when they head up to Philadelphia for the Navy Day Regatta.
