ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Navy women's basketball team will open a stretch of four consecutive games played on the road Tuesday night when the Midshipmen play at Delaware State. Tipoff for the game being played in Dover, Del., is slated for 5:30 p.m.

Navy enters the game looking to bounce back after suffering its first loss of the season. The Mids ran their record to 4-0 on the year with a 67-57 victory over Loyola last Friday night in Alumni Hall, but then dropped a 55-43 decision to Liberty the following day in the championship game of the Navy Classic.
Cassie Consedine (Jr., Bartlesville, Okla.) ran her streak of consecutive games with scoring at least 10 points to five in a row with a 19-point performance against Loyola and a 14-point outing against Liberty. She also pulled down seven and nine boards, respectively, in the two games. Consedine leads Navy in both scoring (15.2 ppg) and rebounding (8.2 rpg) this year and has connected on a team-high eight three-point field goals.
Navy's 4-1 record to start the year is the best for the program since the 1997-98 squad began its season with a 5-0 record.
Delaware State prepares to play host to Navy looking to snap a two-game losing skid. The Hornets opened the year with an 84-28 victory over Lincoln (Pa.) University before dropping a 66-46 contest to Northeastern and a 57-50 decision to Army this past Saturday in West Point.
Four players on the team are averaging in double figures, with Selena Galloway's average of 12.7 points per game leading the squad. Additionally, Brittany Washington is nearly averaging a double-double on the year with marks of 10.0 points and 9.7 rebounds per game.
Navy posted a 55-45 victory over Delaware State when the two teams met one year ago in Alumni Hall. The Hornets quickly jumped out to an 11-point first-half advantage before the Mids rallied to take the lead early in the second half. Delaware State tallied more field goals and three-point field goals than Navy did in the game, but the Mids were 21-of-26 from the foul line while the Hornets were 8-of-16 from the charity stripe.
Five Mids scored at least eight points in the game, including Angela Myers (Jr., San Antonio, Texas) who tallied a team-high 12 points.
Navy holds a 5-2 lead in the all-time series with Delaware State. The teams have split the two previous games played in Dover, with the Mids winning during the 1978-79 season and the Hornets taking the most recent game played there in five seasons ago.
Following Tuesday's game, Navy will play a pair of contests this weekend at Texas-San Antonio. The Mids will face UTSA Friday at 8 p.m. EST before taking on Western Illinois Saturday at 3 p.m. EST. Navy's stretch of road games will conclude Dec. 2 with a game at UMBC.
