BALTIMORE, Md. - The Navy women's track team finished in ninth place out of 14 teams at Morgan State's Legacy Meet over the weekend in Baltimore.
The Midshipmen women's sent a split squad to the two-day meet and produced a total of 37 team points. Pittsburgh paced the 14-team field with 180.5 points, Norfolk State grabbed second with 100 while the host Bears came in third with 80 points to their credit.
Highlighting the team's effort were a pair of personal-record efforts from sophomore Joy Nameth (Walden, Colo.) and freshman Amanda Bonilla (Fairfax, Va.). Nameth built upon her career-best javelin effort, delivering a toss of 110-feet, 110-inches (33.82m) to place fifth overall. Bonilla, meanwhile, shaved seven full seconds off her PR in the 400-meter hurdles, clocking in at 1:13.29 to finish 22nd.
Junior Mia Blundetto (Apple Valley, Minn.) was Navy's top scorer on the afternoon, earning eight points thanks to her second-place finish in the hammer throw.
The Mids will wrap their regular season schedule next week in Philadelphia where they will compete in the 115th running of the Penn Relays, from April 23-25.
