Young Closes Out Season at NCAA East Regional

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Senior Carey Young (Virginia Beach, Va.) finished 29th overall in the 3,000-meter steeplechase on Saturday evening at the NCAA East Regional Track and Field Championships on the campus of North Carolina A&T State University.

Young clocked in with a time of 11 minutes, 6.73 seconds, posting the fifth-fastest time out of 13 runners in her heat.

For the former women's soccer standout and first-year distance runner, the performance closes out a terrific spring, which saw her capture the Patriot League title in the steeplechase and produce three of the top-10 fastest times in the event in school history.
