ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Navy women's basketball team will open a three-game homestand Wednesday night when the Midshipmen play host to Holy Cross in Alumni Hall. The game is slated to tip at 7 p.m.
Following Wednesday's game, Navy will also play host to Army Saturday at 3 p.m. (which is preceeded by the 12 Noon Army-Navy men's game) and American on January 27.

Additionally, a video stream of the game will be available to Navy All-Access subscribers through www.NavySports.com(.) The subscription prices for Navy All-Access, which includes a video stream of every Navy home men's and women's basketball game and all of Navy's Patriot League away games, are $9.95 for a one-month package and $79.95 for a 12-month annual package.
Wednesday's game has been designated as Active Senior Night at Alumni Hall. All fans ages 65 and older can purchase tickets to the game for just $1. Tickets can be purchased at the Alumni Hall box office the night of the game.
All non-Department of Defense stickered vehicles will not be allowed access to the grounds of the U.S. Naval Academy. Those fans without a sticker must park at nearby Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium ($5.) and ride the free shuttle bus to-and-from Alumni Hall.
The Mids dropped a pair of games last week in the Lehigh Valley to see their league record fall to 1-2 on the young season. Navy first lost a 64-56 decision at Lehigh before dropping a 46-43 contest at Lafayette. K.C. Gordon (Sr., Vienna, Va.) was the lone Mid to score in double figures in both of the games against the Mountain Hawks and the Leopards. She tallied 10 points at Lehigh and recorded 13 points -- and eight rebounds -- at Lafayette.
The two efforts allowed her to not only run her stretch of games scoring in double digits to five in a row, but also take over the Navy scoring lead during the league season. Gordon is averaging a team-high 12.3 points per game against league foes this year.
Joining Gordon in having a strong week on the road were Angela Myers (Jr., San Antonio, Texas), Chey Arvin (Fr., Noblesville, Ind.) and Megan Matheny (Fr., Lexington Park, Md.). Myers averaged 9.0 points and 5.5 rebounds a game last week, Arvin posted marks of 8.0 points and 5.0 caroms a game and Matheny added a scoring average of 6.5 points per game. Additionally, Arvin was an impressive 7-of-9 from the field over the course of the two games.
Thanks to its season-opening 70-40 win over Bucknell, Navy still holds a slim scoring advantage over its league foes this year. Navy is averaging 56.3 points per game in three league contests, while its opponents are averaging 50.0 points per game. Also, the Mids hold a narrow 3.0 rebounds-per-game advantage over their opponents (32.7-29.7 rpg).
Navy and Holy Cross split their two meetings last year, with the road team picking up the win in both games. The Mids first posted a 59-50 win in Worcester before the Crusaders recorded a 67-58 win in Annapolis.
Holy Cross has won 37 of the previous 42 games played in the series and holds a 31-5 advantage over Navy in league regular season games. The Crusaders have posted 10 consecutive wins over the Mids in Alumni Hall to take a 16-3 lead in games played on The Yard. Seven of the last 10 games contested in Annapolis have been determined by nine points or less, four of them decided by five or fewer points.
The Crusaders also enter Wednesday's game with a 1-2 record in league play. Thus far during the young conference campaign, Holy Cross has dropped decisions to Lafayette (43-39) and Army (65-61) and recorded a 55-42 win over Bucknell. Overall this year, Holy Cross has compiled a 5-13 record.
Holy Cross as a team is averaging 51.7 points per game and allowing its league foes to averaging 50.0 points per game. The Crusaders are being outrebounded by nearly eight boards a game (41.3-33.7 rpg).
Whitney Fremeau, Bethany O'Dell and Briana McFadden are leading the Crusaders in scoring during the Patriot League season. Fremeau is averaging a team-high 10.0 points per game, with O'Dell and McFadden averaging 9.7 and 9.5 points per game, respectively.
