ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Navy women's basketball team will continue its homestand Saturday afternoon when the Midshipmen play host to Army. The game will tip at 3 p.m. in Alumni Hall and will follow the 12 Noon game between the two service academy men's teams.

Local radio station WNAV-AM 1430 also will be broadcasting the game.
Navy saw its league record improve to 2-2 (10-9 overall) with a 75-60 victory over Holy Cross Wednesday night on The Yard. The win was Navy's first over Holy Cross in Annapolis since 1999 and its largest win over the Crusaders in series history.
Long-range shooting keyed both offenses in the game. Navy missed tying its own school and league record for the most three-point field goals made in a game by one with 13 on the night, while Holy Cross also connected on a lofty total of nine triples on the night.
Sinking four of Navy's treys in the game was K.C. Gordon (Sr., Vienna, Va.). The team captain scored a career-high 20 points against Holy Cross to run her streak of consecutive games with 10 or more points to six. Several of her field goals came as the result of feeds from Angela Myers (Jr., San Antonio, Texas), who tied a career high with 11 assists. Her helper tally was three short of tying the school record, while she missed becoming the first player in Navy history to record a double-double of assists and rebounds by one carom. After making just two three-point field goals over the last six games, Cassie Consedine (Jr., Bartlesville, Okla.) sank a trio of triples against the Crusaders on her way to scoring 15 points. She too just missed a double-double by just one rebound.
Army began its week-long stay in the Washington, D.C.-Annapolis area with a 64-49 loss to American Wednesday night. The setback dropped its record in league games to 2-2 and its overall record on the year to 8-10.
Erin Anthony is averaging a double-double on the season for the Black Knights. She leads Army in both scoring and rebounding with averages of 16.6 points and 10.0 rebounds a game and has totaled 29 blocked shots in 17 games. Nine of her blocks have been tallied since the start of league play. Also scoring in double figures for Army this year is Nalini Hawkins at 10.1 points per game.
Anthony's brother, Mac, is a member of the Navy swimming team and garnered Patriot League Rookie-of-the-Year honors last year.
Navy and Army have both defeated Holy Cross and lost to Lehigh since the beginning of conference play.
Saturday's game will be the first of two meetings between the programs this year. The Star and Army-Navy Trophy Game will be contested Feb. 20 in West Point.
The two teams split their contests that were played during the 2009 league season. Navy won a 44-39 contest in West Point before Army won a 58-50 decision in Annapolis.
Army has won nine of the last 11 games in the series to build a 27-25 lead over Navy. The Black Knights also have won five consecutive games in the series that have been played in Annapolis to take a 13-11 lead in games played on The Yard.
