ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Navy men's cross country senior Andrew Hanko and freshman C.J. Elward were named Patriot League Runner of the Week and Freshman of the Week, respectively, by the conference office on Monday. The two runners helped Navy defeat Army on Saturday, 20-41, for the 11th time in the last 14 meetings.

Hanko set the pace early in Saturday's dual and never looked back as he cruised into first place with a time of 24:27.1. It was the second time this season Hanko claimed the top spot on his home course as he also took the individual title at the Navy Invitational on Sept. 18.

The Montville, N.J., native has finished in the top 10 in all five meets in which he has competed this season and has been named the conference's runner of the week after each race. His 10 career weekly league honors are the most by any runner in Patriot League history.

For Elward, it is his first career conference honor. The Morton, Ill., native was the top-finishing freshman from either team in Saturday's meet as he took 10th overall with a time of 25:37.5.

The Midshipmen have this weekend off and will return to action on Oct. 30 at the Patriot League Championships in Easton, Pa.
