ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy cross country teams head to the Show Me State as Navy takes part in the seventh-annual Gans Creek Classic hosted by the University of Missouri at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia, Mo. Friday morning will feature six collegiate races at 9:15 a.m. ET (Men's Black), 10:00 a.m. ET (Women's Black), 10:45 a.m. ET (Men's Gold), and 11:30 a.m. ET (Women's Gold) with open races to follow.

Gans Creek Classic
The Seventh Annual Gans Creek Classic will take place at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course. Gans Creek is the home of the 2025 NCAA Cross Country Championships. The Gans Creek Classic will feature the nation's top college and top high school athletes. The course is a state-of-the-art facility and will feature championship events including the host for the MHSAA State Championships, 2025 NCAA Cross Country Championships, 2026 SEC Championships, and the 2027 NCAA Regional Championships.
Last Time Out (MEN)
The Navy men's cross country team posted a combined score of 33 points in the Cantello Invitational at the USNA Golf Course to finish the 4.9-mile race in second place overall.
Trevor Hayes was the Mids' top finisher with a time of 25:01.1 to notch a second-place finish. UMBC combined for a team-low score of 29 to win the event with the Midshipmen four points back.
The Mids' youth was on display as Navy's top seven were all underclassmen. Hayes, a sophomore, led the charge with his second-place finish. Sophomore
Billy Driscoll was second among Midshipmen and fourth overall – third-place points – with a time of 25:22.5. Fellow sophomore
Jonathan Skemp and freshman
Ben Marks crossed the finish line back-to-back in ninth and 10th place, respectively. Skemp posted a time of 25:47.1 with Marks clocking a time of 25:50.7.

Shane Conroy along with sophomore
James McCarron rounded out the top seven for the home team, finishing in order. Bowlsby posted a time of 25:59.0 to take 12th with Conroy half a second back (25:59.5) to come in 13th. McCarron registered a 14th-place performance with a time of 26:01.3.
Last Time Out (WOMEN)
Behind an individual medalist finish by freshman Juliet Frum, the Navy women's cross country team combined for a team-low score of 19 to win women's 6K at the Cantello Invitational at the USNA Golf Course. Navy won the overall team competition with a low score of 19, while UMBC finished second with 55 total points.
Frum led a group of seven Midshipmen who all finished in the top eleven. With a pace of 6:02, Frum's time of 22:28.8 led the freshman to a first-place finish by nearly 20 seconds over UMBC's Alexis Temper who came in second (22:47.6).
Senior Samantha Woodworth was third overall with a time of 22:53.5 to lead a group of four Mids who finished in order third through sixth. Freshman Catalina Simon was fourth with a time of 23:00.6 with sophomores Paige Sheiffele (23:02.9) and Madeline Palmisciano (23:09.8) crossing the line in fifth and sixth, respectively. Junior Susanna Henderson claimed ninth with a time of 23:31.2, while sophomore Stella Perazzini rounded out Navy's top seven with an 11th-place finish and a time of 23:38.7.
Freshman Constance Goldenberg (23:51.8), freshman Caroline Montemaro (23:57.6), junior Sarah Colebrooke (24:05.8), sophomore Amelie Loomis (24:08.8), and freshman Lorraine Goldenberg (24:30.6) also competed for Navy in the women's varsity 6K.
Patriot League Athlete of the Week (Sept. 16, 2025)
The Patriot League announced its weekly cross country awards and Navy student-athlete Juliet Frum was tabbed Rookie of the Week. Competing in her first collegiate race, Frum clocked a time of 22:28.8 to claim individual medalist honors in the 6K race and help Navy to a first-place finish as a team at the Cantello Invitational. The freshman won the race by nearly 20 seconds (18.8), helping Navy posted a team-low score of 19 to win the team competition by 36 points.
