CENTER VALLEY, Pa. -- Navy's Angela Myers (Jr., San Antonio, Texas) and Chey Arvin (Fr., Noblesville, Ind.) both garnered postseason accolades from the Patriot League Tuesday. Myers was tabbed as the league's defensive player of the year for the second consecutive season while also earning First-Team All-Patriot League laurels. Arvin, meanwhile, was named to the All-Rookie (Freshman) Team.

Myers ranks among the Patriot League leaders in 10 of the 13 statistical categories tracked by the league. This includes assists (second, 4.1 apg), free throw percentage (second, 82.1%), steals (third, 2.0 spg), rebounding (ninth, 5.9 rpg) and scoring (11th, 11.0 ppg). In Patriot League games she is among the league leaders in assists (first, 4.9 apg), assist-to-turnover ratio (first, 1.7), steals (third, 2.3 spg), scoring (seventh, 12.7 ppg) and rebounding (eighth, 5.9 rpg).

A Second-Team All-Patriot League selection last year as a sophomore, Myers has twice been tabbed as the player of the week in the league this season. She has at least tied for the Navy lead in scoring in eight games, in rebounding in nine games and in assists in 20 games. Myers has scored in double figures in 10 of Navy's 14 Patriot League games and has reached double figures in points in 20 games on the season. Additionally, she has posted five or more rebounds in 11 league games (22 games overall), dished out five or more assists in eight league games (13 games on the season) and recorded multiple steals in 10 league contests (17 games on the year).

Most recently, Myers scored a career high 23 points while adding seven assists, five rebounds and five steals in Navy's regular season finale this past Saturday night against Colgate. She connected on 10-of-12 shots from the field during Navy's 69-50 win over the Raiders. Her shooting percentage of 83.3 percent on the night broke the Navy record for the highest by a Mid in a league game and tied her for seventh place at the school for the highest field goal percentage posted in any game.

Myers enters this week's Patriot League Tournament needing eight points to reach 800 for her career. She also has grabbed 547 rebounds, dished out 340 assists (sixth at Navy) and swiped 181 steals (sixth at Navy) over the course of her 90-game career.

She is the first Mid to garner First-Team All-Patriot League honors since Carly Meyer in 2007, and is the first to have received multiple all-league laurels in a career since Courtney Davidson earned her fourth nod from the league during her senior season in 2004. Additionally, Myers is the first repeat winner of the Defensive Player-of-the-Year award in its six-year existence.

Arvin joins teammate Cassie Consedine (Jr., Bartlesville, Okla.) as current Mids to have been named to the league's all-rookie (freshman) team. She, Myers and Consedine are the only Mids to have started all 29 games this season. Arvin is averaging 5.5 points per game this year while hauling in an average of 3.2 rebounds per game. She is shooting a solid 37.2 percent from the field on the year, but she has seen that number jump to 46.5 percent during the Patriot League season.

The Patriot League Rookie (Freshman) of the Week for Dec. 22, Arvin has scored in double figures in seven games this season (four times in league games) and has grabbed four or more rebounds in 12 games. She scored a season-high 13 points against Loyola, while producing a personal Patriot League-high of 11 points in both games against Lehigh and during Navy's Star-Game victory over Army at West Point.

Navy posted an 8-6 record in the Patriot League this season to earn the No. 3 seed in the Patriot League Tournament. This marks the highest seed for the Mids since entering the 1999 tournament as the third-seeded team. Navy will face sixth-seeded Colgate Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in Worcester, Mass. in the quarterfinal round of the Patriot League Tournament.
