FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. - The Navy women's cross country team placed 24th at the Griak Invitational on Saturday. No. 23 Arizona, one of five teams ranked in the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) national coaches' poll competing in Saturday's meet, took first place with 76 points.
Sophomore Brigid Byrne led Navy's effort with a time of 23:03 as she crossed the finish line 121st out of 300 competitors. Freshman Zatha Loewen was the next Navy runner to finish and ran a 23:36, placing 163rd.
Senior Bethany Rahall, the only non-freshman or sophomore to compete for the Mids on Saturday, was Navy's third finisher with a time of 24:01. Sophomores Jacqueline Blackburn (24:07) and Liz Milewski (24:18), rounded out Navy's top five.
Navy will return to action on Friday, Oct. 1 at the Great American Festival in Cary, N.C.
