CENTER VALLEY, Pa. -- Putting together her two best statistical performances of the Patriot League season resulted in Navy's Audrey Bauer (Fr., Lake Zurich, Ill.) earning the league's rookie-of-the-week accolade for women's basketball on Monday. Bauer's laurel comes one week after teammate Jade Geif (Fr., Lakeview, Minn.) received the same nod.
Bauer entered last having totaled 20 points, 15 rebounds and four three-point field goals made through the first five games of the league season. She would tally 22 points, 15 rebounds and four three-point field goals in Navy's games last week against American and Colgate.
She first recorded 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds against the Eagles before notching 10 points and seven caroms against the Raiders. Her 12-point effort was one point shy of tying her season-best performance, while her eight rebounds was a new personal high. Bauer, who sank a pair of three-point field goals in both games, shot 53.3 percent from the floor and 50 percent from behind the three-point line last week.
Navy will open the second half of the Patriot League season Saturday night when the Midshipmen play host to Bucknell at 7 p.m. in Alumni Hall. The Mids are in first place with a 6-1 record in league play.
