ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy women's indoor track and field team (12-0) earned five dual wins at the Navy Invitational at the Wesley A. Brown Field House on Saturday. Navy picked up double dual scored victories over Delaware (301-261), James Madison (312-199), Maryland-Eastern Shore (326-187), Mount St. Mary's (369-152) and VCU (287-221).

Navy won three events on Saturday and posted three ECAC Championship qualifying performances.

"It's always challenging with the first meet coming off the holiday break but we had some bright spots and maintained a good trajectory heading deeper into the season," head coach Carla Criste said. "I was excited about our distance runners, especially Annie-Norah (Beveridge) in the 3,000 and the 5,000 and Brigid (Byrne) in the 5,000. Also Christina (Blair) looked strong in the mile. Kristin Smith also looked strong in the high jump with another ECAC height."

Senior Kristin Smith matched the ECAC-qualifying height in the high jump with her first-place showing of 5-7 (1.70m) and junior Veronica Ffrench tied for third in the high jump at 5-3 (1.60m).

Sophomore Annie-Norah Beveridge won the 3,000m run at 10:11.64 after placing third in the 5,000m run with an ECAC-qualifying time of 17:14.62. Senior Brigid Byrne was second in the 5,000m run at 17:08.00, also an ECAC time.

Sophomore Christina Blair won the mile run with a personal record time of 5:06.66, which is the best time by a Navy miler this season. Blair also placed third in the 3,000m run at 10:19.24, another personal record.

Sophomore Madeline Zell took second place in the 800m run at 3:00.36 and senior Natasha Druggan was fifth in the 500m run at 1:16.84.

Senior Jordan Kronshage placed third in the pole vault at 11-3¾ (3.45m) and freshman Marissa Stewart had the same height while placing fourth.

Junior Maressa Guynn placed third in the weight throw at 49-10½ (15.20m) and junior Teronda Brown placed fifth in the shot put with her best mark of the season at 43-11¼ (13.39m). Brown also placed eighth in the weight throw at 44-11 (13.69m).

James Madison's Katie Gorman set a new facility record in the 5,000m run at 16:55.71 and VCU's Kiara Porter set a new facility record in the 200m dash (24.06).
