Briefly
• Marshall has posted a 5-5 record thus far this season, which includes a 5-3 record in games played in the Cam Henderson Center and a 4-2 record in its last six games.
• Navy and Marshall will be meeting for the fifth time in series history, with each team having won a pair of games. Each team has posted a 1-1 record against the other in games played in both Annapolis and Huntington.
• Last year's game saw Navy post a 67-51 victory over Marshall in Alumni Hall.
• Sunday's game will close the non-Patriot League portion of Navy's season.
• With a 7-3 record heading into the game, Navy has assured itself of a winning non-league season for the second time in head coach Stefanie Pemper's six years at the school (2009-10, 8-7).
• Navy makes the trip to West Virginia to play a homecoming game for senior team captain Kara Pollinger, who hails from Fort Gay, W.Va., which is about 30 miles south of Huntington.
• The Mids have posted a 4-5 record against teams currently part of Conference USA. This includes a 2-2 record in road games and a 2-1 record under Pemper.
• Navy has compiled a 7-4 record against teams from West Virginia.
• Navy last played a game back on Dec. 6 when it lost to Princeton. In comparison, Marshall played four games during the 23 days the Mids have been off from competition. The current 23-day gap between games is the longest for a Navy team since the 1991-92 season when the Mids had 26 days between games.
