Membreno Competes in Javelin at NCAA East Regional

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Navy junior Alix Membreno placed 43rd in the javelin at the NCAA East Regional at North Carolina A&T's Aggie Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Membreno was the third and final Navy women's track and field athlete to compete at the NCAA East Regional.

Membreno's scoring mark of 135-10 (41.40m) came on her third and final throw of the afternoon. Her first attempt measured 121-2 (36.93m) and her second was a 134-9 (41.07m).

Membreno placed 37th in the javelin at the East Regional in 2011 and was 29th in 2012. Membreno won the javelin at the Patriot League Outdoor Championship this spring.

Classmates Lauren Allam and Maressa Guynn competed in the discus at the regional on Thursday. Allam placed 28th and Guynn was 45th.

The Navy women's track and field season has now concluded.
