CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Two clean sheets this past weekend with the help of senior goalkeeper Elizabeth Hoerner and junior defender Jade Seabrook earned them BRINE Defensive Player and Goalkeeper of the Week honors, announced by the conference office on Monday.

Hoerner continues to impress between the pipes, as she recorded a complete shutout against Boston University on Friday and a combined shutout with teammate Dayton Wetherby versus St. Francis (Pa.) on Sunday. In the Patriot League opener, Hoerner held her own for the full 90 minutes, tallying all four saves she needed to preserve her third shutout of the season against preseason League favorite BU. Then on Sunday, the senior captain recorded three saves in 87:22 minutes before Wetherby came in for the final 2:38 to wrap up the team's sixth overall shutout of the season in a 5-0 victory over the Red Flash.

Seabrook has been the foundation of Navy's stellar backline this season. Last week, the junior defender played in 174 of the 180 total minutes and anchored the defense for their fifth and sixth shutouts of the season. Through 10 games, the St. Paris, Ohio native has logged 876 of 916 possible minutes on the field.

Hoerner and Seabrook have led the Navy defense to six shutouts and are holding opponents to 0.79 goals per game. Navy's six shutouts are tops in the Patriot League and its goals against average is third-best.

Navy will have a full week to prepare before travelling to Patriot League opponent Lafayette on Saturday, Sept. 28. Game is slated for 3 p.m.
