ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Coming off a hard-fought five-point loss to #18 Michigan State in the season-opening Quicken Loans Veterans Classic, the Navy men's basketball team (0-1) will begin play in the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament with a campus round game at Notre Dame (1-0) on Sunday at 2:00 PM.

The game will be broadcast on ESPN3.com with Wayne Randazzo on the play-by-play and Mark Adams as the analyst. The game will also be available on radio on WNAV 1430 AM / 99.9 FM in Annapolis and WFED 1050 AM in Washington, D.C. with Pete Medhurst on the play-by-play.

Navy will continue play in the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament with another campus round game at Providence on Thursday. All eight teams in the tournament will meet at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. over the weekend to play two additional games. Navy will play Northeastern at the Mohegan Sun Arena on Saturday and will then play either Manhattan or Binghamton on Sunday.

Midshipmen Storylines
• Navy gave #18 Michigan State all it could handle in the season opening Quicken Loans Veterans Classic on Friday.
• The Mids fell to the Spartans, 64-59, but Navy was within three points with under 20 seconds to play against the 204 Elite Eight program.
• Sophomore center Edward Alade, in his first career start, scored a team-high 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting and grabbed three rebounds.
• Senior guard Brandon Venturini had 11 points, five assists and five steals and junior point guard Tilman Dunbar scored 10 points and had six assists and just two turnovers in 35 minutes.
• Senior forward Worth Smith scored seven points in 14 minutes, but left the game with a knee injury and is out indefinitely.
• Jace Hogan scored six points, all in the second half, for a strong collegiate debut.
• Navy committed just 10 turnovers, while scoring 19 points off of Michigan State's 15 giveaways.
• Navy hosted Michigan State in the inaugural Veterans Classic and the event began with VCU defeating Tennessee, 85-69, in the opening game of the event.

Notre Dame Storylines
• Notre Dame opened the season by defeating Binghamton, 82-39, on Friday in a campus round game of the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament.
• Zach Auguste scored a team-high 19 points while Pat Connaughton had 17 points, including his 1,000th point.
• Jerian Grant, back after missing the final 20 games of the 2013-14 season, scored 14 points and had six rebounds.
• Notre Dame is 51-1 at home in the month of November under head coach Mike Brey. Brey won his 400th career game against Binghamton on Friday.

Series History vs. Notre Dame
• Although Navy and Notre Dame recently met on the football field for the 88th consecutive year, the two teams are meeting on the hardwood for the first time since 1980.
• Navy and Notre Dame met eight times from 1948 to 1963 but only once since.
• Navy's lone win in the series was a 67-58 win in Annapolis on Feb. 23, 1952.
• Head coach Ed DeChellis is 1-0 all-time against Notre Dame.
• DeChellis' Penn State team defeated Notre Dame, 67-59, in the 2009 NIT Tournament Semifinals on March 31. Penn State went on to win the NIT Tournament that season.

Looking Ahead
• Navy will next play at Providence on Thursday at 7:00 PM.
• The game will be televised on Fox Sports South 2.
• The Friars are opening their season against Albany on Saturday evening.
• Providence won the 2014 Big East Tournament Championship and competed in the NCAA Tournament.
