ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Members of the Navy men's basketball team visited middle school students at Wiley H. Bates Middle School in Annapolis on Friday morning. The team met with the students for over an hour doing basketball drills and speaking to the children about the importance of academics.

Senior team captain Kevin Alter led the Navy contingent and he was joined by juniors Will Kelly and Kendall Knorr and sophomores Grant Vermeer and Edward Alade.

The Mids talked about the importance of academics, time management and keeping a positive attitude. The students and the players conducting a Q&A session about what life is like at the Naval Academy and encouraged the students to keep their academics as a top priority.

The students, including members of the middle school's basketball team, also did a variety of basketball drills in the gym with the Mids.

Navy will next host Towson on Monday at 7:00 PM in Alumni Hall.
