ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy men's basketball team (7-10, 3-2 PL) will host first-place Colgate (7-11, 4-1 PL) on Saturday at 4:00 PM at Alumni Hall. The Mids enter the game in a five-way tie for second place behind the Raiders.

Pete Medhurst and Michael Heary will handle the announcing duties for the live video stream on PatriotLeague.TV and the WNAV radio feed. The game can be heard in Annapolis on 1430 AM / 99.9 FM and worldwide on wnav.com. Live statistics will also be available.

Alumni Game to be Held Saturday
• The 11th annual Navy men's basketball Alumni Game will be contested on Saturday at 12:30 PM in Alumni Hall.
• The game is free and open to the public.
• Seventeen former players will compete in the Alumni Game, while over 25 former players will be back in Annapolis over the weekend.
• A shuttle for the Alumni Game will begin running from Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium at 11:30 AM and will continue to run until 10:00 PM.

Midshipmen Storylines
• Navy (7-10, 3-2) is coming off a 65-63 loss at Bucknell on Wednesday.
• The Mids had a late six-point lead, but Bucknell's John Azzinaro hit three late 3-pointers to rally the Bison.
• Worth Smith scored 14 points and had six rebounds for the Mids.
• Edward Alade matched his season-high scoring output of 12 points and also had four rebounds and three blocks.
• Kendall Knorr scored in double-figures for the second straight game with 11 points.
• Smith now has 983 career points and is just 17 points shy of the 1,000-point mark for his career.
• Smith is seeking to become the 21st player in school history to score 1,000 career points.
• The last Mid to reach the 1,000-point mark was Jordan Sugars, who accomplished the feat on Feb. 26, 2011 against Colgate at Alumni Hall.
• Smith leads Navy in scoring at 16.6 points per game and is also the team's top rebounder at 6.9 per contest.
• Smith is fourth in the Patriot League in scoring in conference only games at 17.8 points per game.
• Venturini is second on the team in scoring (11.9) and he first in the Patriot League in steals per game in conference only contests at 2.4.
• As a team in conference games, Navy is first in fewest turnovers per game (8.2), first in assist to turnover ratio (1.7), second in scoring margin (+5.6) and second in field goal percentage (.463).
• Head coach Ed DeChellis is in his fourth season at Navy.
• Navy has made at least one 3-pointer in 352 consecutive games.
• Navy has an all-time record of 1,322-994 (.571).

Colgate Storylines
• After a 3-10 record in non-conference play, the Raiders have opened league play with a 4-1 mark and sit in sole possession of first place after the first five games.
• Colgate most recently defeated Boston U., 62-53, on Wednesday.
• Colgate also has league wins over Bucknell, Holy Cross and Lehigh. It's lone conference loss was to American in double overtime.
• Senior guard Damon Sherman-Newsome scored 19 points and hit five 3-pointers against Boston U.
• Sherman-Newsome leads Colgate in scoring in overall games (15.6) and conference only games (19.6).
• Senior center Ethan Jacobs is averaging 15.2 points in conference play and senior guard Luke Roh is averaging 10.4 points.
• In conference games, Colgate is shooting league-best percentages of 50.4 from the floor and 46.5 on 3-pointers.
• Sherman-Newsome leads the league in scoring in conference play (19.6) and junior guard Austin Tillotson is second in assists (5.2).
• Colgate is coached by fourth-year head coach Matt Langel who has a record of 39-72 at Colgate.

Series History vs. Colgate
• Colgate leads the all-time series against Navy, 31-25.
• Navy holds a 15-12 advantage in games played in Annapolis.
• The two teams met three times last season, twice in the regular season, and also in the Patriot League Tournament First Round.
• Colgate defeated Navy in Hamilton, N.Y., 63-41, before the Mids won on their home court, 71-61.
• Colgate knocked Navy out of the postseason tournament with a 57-51 win in Hamilton.
• Brandon Venturini poured in 26 points in the tournament game at Colgate, making 11 field goals.
• Worth Smith also had 10 points and nine rebounds.
• In Navy's 10-point win in Annapolis, Venturini scored 19 points and had eight assists, while Smith added 16.
• Venturini also scored 11 points in the game at Hamilton. He has scored 83 points against Colgate in seven career games.

Looking Ahead
• Navy will next begin a two-game road swing with games at Lehigh (Jan. 21) and at Holy Cross (Jan. 24) next week.
• Lehigh and Holy Cross are both currently tied for last place in the Patriot League with 1-4 records.
• Holy Cross will play at Lehigh on Saturday at 2:00 PM.

Shuttle / Parking Information
Fans without Department of Defense clearance must park outside of the U.S. Naval Academy grounds. Fans may park at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium for $5. Buses will run every 15 minutes starting at 11:30 AM prior to the Alumni Game and will continue running throughout the game until 11:00 PM.
