Last Game
On a night where points were scarce, Bucknell scored the only two points in overtime to come away with a 44-42 win over Navy Wednesday night at Alumni Hall.
Navy trailed by as many as eight points in the first half before heading into the locker room down 23-16. The second half saw the lead change hands eight times before Bucknell slowly took a 42-37 lead with just over three minutes left to play.
An Ashanti Kennedy three-point shot pulled the Mids to within two points with 90 seconds left then, after a pair of missed shots on the next Bison possession, Kennedy had a long jumper fall halfway through the hoop before popping back out. However, Marina Muenster was there for the carom and putback to knot the score with 27.2 seconds still to play.
The Bison misfired on their lone shot during their last possession of the game, which sent the contest into overtime.
Bucknell tallied the lone points of the extra period on a jumper midway through the five-minute session. Navy had the ball at the very end of the game, but Taylor Dunham's three-point shot just before the final horn hit the front of the rim and the back of the rim before careening wide.
