Last Game
Navy sliced a 10-point halftime deficit down to six late in the game, but turnovers down the stretch thwarted the rally by the Mids in a 59-49 loss at American Tuesday night.

American shot 51.5 percent from the field in the first half and closed the frame on a 14-5 run to take a 32-22 lead at the break. The margin between the teams hovered between 7 and 12 points during the second half until the Mids cut it to six at 53-47 with 5:28 still to play.

After an empty possession by the Eagles, Navy had a field goal attempt on its next time down the court to cut it to four points, but the shot missed its mark. The Mids continued to play strong defense as American was held scoreless on its next three possessions, but Navy turned the ball over without getting a shot off on its ensuing three offensive opportunities.

The Eagles would tally six of the last eight points of the game to secure the win.

About Lafayette
Lafayette snapped a three-game skid with a 58-56 win over Colgate Wednesday night.

The Leopards have posted an 11-9 record this season and are tied for sixth place in the Patriot League with a 4-5 mark.

Lafayette has been especially good at home this year, putting together a 7-2 record in all home games and a 3-2 record against league competition in Easton.

The Series
Navy posted a 65-52 win over Lafayette earlier this season to extend its lead in the overall series to 42-21. The Mids also hold a 33-14 lead in league regular season games played between the teams.

Navy has posted a 15-13 record in all games played at Lafayette, as well as a 13-10 mark in league regular season games played in Easton.

A win by the Mids would give them their 12th season sweep of Lafayette, while a win by the Leopards would result in the teams splitting the season series for an 11th time.
