Men's Soccer Takes Winning Streak to Bucknell Saturday

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Navy men's soccer team (6-4-1, 3-0-0 PL) will seek to continue its three-game winning streak when playing at Bucknell (4-5-4, 0-2-2 PL) on Saturday at 4:00 PM at Emmitt Field. Free live video and live statistics will be available.

Navy is coming off a 1-0 win at Holy Cross last Saturday and previously beat Lehigh, 3-1, and Loyola, 1-0.

Senior captain Derek Vogel scored the game-winning goal against Holy Cross in the 11th minute and senior Jackson Morgan made two saves for his fifth shutout of the season.

Vogel was tabbed as the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week for his play against Holy Cross and Lehigh. Vogel earned the ninth conference weekly honor of his career.

Vogel leads Navy with 10 points this season on three goals and four assists. Morgan is 6-4-1 with a 0.96 goals-against average and a .776 save percentage.

Navy is 9-0-2 in its last 11 Patriot League Regular Season matches and 18-1-2 in all league matches since the beginning of the 2013 season.

Bucknell, the 2014 Patriot League Tournament Champion, is still seeking its first conference win of 2015.

The Bison are coming off a 5-2 non-conference win over Howard on Tuesday. The team was 0-3-3 in its last six games prior to the Howard match.

In Patriot League play, Bucknell has tied Boston U. and Holy Cross and lost to Lafayette and Colgate.

Chris Thorsheim leads the team with 16 points on six goals and four assists and Sebastiaan Blickman and Jesse Klug each have 10 points.

Navy leads the all-time series against Bucknell, 24-11-4, and the Mids are 3-0-2 against Bucknell in the last five meetings. Navy defeated Bucknell, 1-0, during the Patriot League Regular Season last year. The teams tied, 0-0, in the conference tournament semifinals, with Bucknell advancing on penalty kicks, 5-4.

Navy's Jamie Dubyoski scored the lone goal in the regular season meeting last year.

Boston U. leads the league standings with 10 points at 3-0-1 and Navy is second with nine points at 3-0-0. The Mids have played one less league game than the Terriers.

Navy will play its final non-conference game of the regular season at UMBC on Tuesday. UMBC was a College Cup Final Four participant in 2014.
