ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy men's basketball team (0-1) will have a quick turnaround when hosting College of Charleston (1-0) on Monday evening at Alumni Hall at 7 PM. Navy opened the season by hosting the Veterans Classic on Friday evening.

Free live video will be available on PatriotLeague.TV and navysports.com with Pete Medhurst and Michael Heary calling the action. The game will also be on the radio on WNAV 1430 AM / 99.9 FM in Annapolis. Live statistics will also be available.

Midshipmen Storylines
• Navy lost to Florida, 59-41, in the Veterans Classic on Friday night. The contest was the second game in the annual Veterans Classic and followed No. 1 North Carolina's 91-67 win over Temple at a sold out Alumni Hall.
• Sophomore forward Jace Hogan, in his first career start, scored a team-high eight points and played in a career-high 29 minutes against the Gators.
• Sophomore guard Shawn Anderson scored seven points for the Mids.
• Hogan and Anderson were joined by seniors Tilman Dunbar, Kendall Knorr and Will Kelly in the starting lineup.
• Navy put in a strong defensive effort against Florida, but struggled offensively against Florida's size. Navy shot just 28 percent from the floor and 21 percent on 3-pointers.
• Navy had a strong start to the game and took an early 9-2 lead, but Florida responded to take a 10-point halftime lead.

College of Charleston Storylines
• College of Charleston opened the season with a 20-point win over South Carolina State, 74-54, at home on Friday evening.
• Junior guard Canyon Barry (6-6, 210) led the Cougars with a career-high 31 points on 9-of-16 shooting. Barry made four 3-pointers and was 9-of-10 from the free throw line.
• Barry was the team's leading scorer last season at 12.5 points per game.
• Sophomore guard Cameron Johnson (6-4, 196) added 18 points for Charleston.
• Charleston was 24-of-35 from the free throw line.
• Second-year head coach Earl Grant mans the sidelines for the Cougars. He was 9-24 in his first season in 2014-15.
• One of Grant's assistant coaches is Milan Brown, who was the head coach of Patriot League-member Holy Cross from 2011-15.

Series History vs. College of Charleston
• This is the first-ever meeting between Navy and Charleston.
• Head coach Ed DeChellis is 3-3 all-time against Charleston. All six games came when DeChellis was the head coach at East Tennessee State and both schools were in the Southern Conference.
• Navy is 101-65 all-time against Colonial Athletic Association members and 12-12 against schools from the state of South Carolina.
• Navy played two CAA teams last season, defeating Towson and falling to Northeastern.

Looking Ahead
• Navy will next play at USC Upstate on Thursday at 7:30 PM.
• The game will be the first of a non-conference home-and-home series against the Spartans.
• USC Upstate will make the return trip to Annapolis on Dec. 14.
• Navy and USC Upstate will meet for the first time this season.
• Navy will play at USC Upstate's G.B Hodge Center, which is the smallest Division I gym in the country with a capacity of 828.

Recap of the 2015 Veterans Classic
• The second annual Veterans Classic continued to capture the attention of the college basketball world.
• No. 1 North Carolina opened the 2015-16 college basketball season by defeating Temple, 91-67, at Navy's Alumni Hall on Nov. 13.
• Florida and first-year head coach Mike White then defeated host Navy, 59-41, in the second game from the sold out Alumni Hall.
• With the preseason's top-ranked team in North Carolina, Navy once again had a first-class field after having #15 VCU (led by Shaka Smart) and #18 Michigan State (who eventually played in the 2015 Final Four) in the field in the inaugural year.
• The visiting teams arrived early and spent the day before the game touring the Naval Academy to learn what life is like as a Midshipman.
• The Navy Superintendent and Commandant, as well as Marine Officers, Naval Officers, midshipmen and a former Navy SEAL spoke to the teams.
• The teams toured a MH-60S helicopter, a Marine humvee and transport vehicle, a Navy Yard Patrol ship and a ship simulator. The teams watched noon meal formation and ate lunch in King Hall with the 4,400 members of the Brigade of Midshipmen. There was a VIP reception and a team banquet dinner. The four head coaches received commemorative Naval Officer swords engraved with their names.
• CBS Sports Network aired both games of the doubleheader and filmed a "Hoops Confidential" documentary on the event that will air later in November.

Parking / Shuttle Information
All fans are encouraged to park at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. Fans can enter Gate 5 off Taylor Ave. and pay $5 for parking. The shuttle is free and the pick up and drop off spot is in front of the Blue Angel plane. All fans visiting the Yard should have photo ID. Buses will run every 15 minutes starting at 6:00 PM and will continue running throughout the game and until 10:00 PM. Parking at the stadium is the best option for fans attending the game.
