ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy squash team pushed its season record to 9-0 after putting together wins in six matches over the weekend at the Navy Round Robin played at the Halsey Field House International Squash Courts, as well as the Bancroft Hall Squash Courts in Annapolis. The Mids came into the weekend holding a combined 92-0 record against its six weekend foes.

The Midshipmen opened the weekend with a 9-0 sweep against Fordham on Friday evening, before scoring 9-0 wins against Richmond, Georgetown, Johns Hopkins and Haverford in consecutive matches on Saturday. Navy closed out a successful weekend on the court with a 9-0 win against Washington on Sunday morning.

Five Navy players competed in all six matches, including freshman Senen Ubina (Greenwich, Conn.), junior Randy Beck (Lafayette Hill, Pa.), junior Will Walker (Scarborough, N.Y.) and sophomore Jack Herold (Chicago, Ill.), who not only went 6-0 but also improved to 9-0 on the year.

Junior Reed Whitney (Ladue, Mo.), along with freshmen Alex Patricolo (Southampton, N.Y.), Dylan Sweeney (New York, N.Y.) and Jamie Kjorlien (Greenwich, Conn.) posted 5-0 marks on the weekend.

Earning his first collegiate victory was rookie John Kacergis (Malvern, Pa.) who produced an 11-5, 11-7, 11-3 decision over Georgetown's David Mascarenhas at the No. 9 slot. Meanwhile, sophomore Greg Hyer (Tenafly, N.J.) saw his first action of the 2015-16 campaign with an 11-4, 11-2, 12-10 victory over Richmond's Mike Beck and an 11-4, 11-4, 11-6 win against Joe Donohue of Georgetown.

The Mids will be back in action next weekend when they host another round robin tournament. Navy is slated to open the competition against MIT on Saturday morning at 9:30 am.
