ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Navy men's basketball team (6-2) will go for a seventh straight win at Penn (4-2) on Wednesday at 7:00 PM at The Palestra, an historic college basketball arena.

Midshipmen Storylines
• Navy has won six straight games for the first time since the 2008-09 season.
• Navy also won seven straight games during the 2008-09 season. Its last eight-game winning streak was during the 1999-00 season when Don DeVoe led the Mids to 13 straight victories.
• Navy's six-game winning streak is the tied for the seventh-longest active winning streak in the nation.
• Navy is receiving votes in the CollegeInsider.com Mid Major Top 25 Poll this week.
• At 6-2 this season, Navy is off to its best start since the 2008-09 season when the team opened at 7-1.
• Navy won the Spartan Showcase with three wins in Greensboro last weekend over UNCG (70-66), Jacksonville (71-65) and IPFW (75-53), and also beat Goucher (76-47) in a campus round game on Nov. 22.
• IPFW entered the game against Navy at 6-1 before its 22-point loss to the Mids.
• Sophomore guard Shawn Anderson was named the Spartan Showcase Most Outstanding Player after scoring in double figures in all four tournament games.
• Anderson leads Navy in scoring this season at 13.5 points per game, up from 4.3 as a freshman.
• Senior center Will Kelly was named to the Spartan Showcase All-Tournament Team along with Anderson.
• Kelly had 14 points, five blocks and four rebounds in Navy's win over UNCG and posted 12 points, eight rebounds and six blocks in the team's win over Jacksonville.
• Sophomore forward Jace Hogan returned from a two-game injury absence and posted two impressive performance in Greensboro.
• Hogan had 17 points and six rebounds in the win over Jacksonville and 16 points and eight rebounds in the win over IPFW.
• Senior guard Tilman Dunbar scored 16 points and made 10 free throws to seal Navy's win over UNCG at the Spartan Showcase.
• Junior guard Tim Abruzzo, who missed his entire sophomore season with an ACL injury, has hit a 3-pointer in five straight games and averaged 18.5 minutes, 9.5 points and two 3-pointers per game in Navy's wins over Jacksonville and IPFW.
• Navy has scored at least 70 points in five straight games for the first time since the 2009-10 season and the Mids are 22-1 during the Ed DeChellis era when scoring at least 70 points.
• Navy is ranked first in the Patriot League and 14th in the NCAA in scoring defense, allowing just 58.9 points per game.
• Kelly is ranked first in the Patriot League and 15th in the NCAA in blocks per game at 2.8.
• In addition to scoring defense, Navy also leads the Patriot League in field goal percentage defense (.382), rebounding defense (30.4), rebounding margin (+7.5), and blocked shots per game (4.0). • Navy is 5-0 in road/neutral games this season.
• Navy is playing its fifth game in a season-long seven-game road swing.

Penn Storylines
• Penn enters Wednesday's game at 4-2 and is coming off a 92-86 loss at Patriot League-member Lafayette on Sunday.
• Penn's 6-foot-11, 265-pound center Darien Nelson-Henry had 20 points and nine rebounds against Lafayette, one game after posting 31 points and 14 rebounds in a 80-64 win over La Salle last Wednesday.
• Nelson-Henry is this week's Big 5 Player of the Week.
• The big man leads Penn with 17.0 points and 8.8 rebounds per game.
• Sophomore forward Sam Jones is averaging 14.7 points.
• Penn is scoring 74.3 points per game this season and allowing 75.0.
• Penn hired Steve Donahue this offseason as its new head coach.
• Donahue served as the head coach at Boston College for four seasons from 2011 to 2014 and was the head coach at Cornell for 10 seasons from 2001 to 2010.
• He has a career record of 204-216.

Series History vs. Penn
• Navy and Penn will be meeting for the 83rd time in program history.
• Only Army West Point has faced Navy more times than Penn.
• Penn leads the series with Navy, 58-24.
• The two teams met last season in Annapolis, with Penn winning, 57-46, on Dec. 3.
• The last meeting at The Palestra was Dec. 5, 2008, which Navy won, 76-65.

Looking Ahead
• Navy will next travel to Hawai'i to play in the FS1 Pearl Harbor Invitational on Monday, Dec. 7.
• Navy will play #15 Oregon (6-0), following the opening game between #6 Oklahoma and #8 Villanova.
• Oklahoma will play Villanova at 2:00 PM local time (7:00 PM ET) and the Mids and the Ducks will play the second game at 4:45 PM local time (9:45 PM ET).
• At #15 in the AP Poll, Oregon is Navy's highest-ranked opponent since facing #10 Missouri on Dec. 10, 2011. Missouri defeated Navy, 84-59.
• The games will be played in Bloch Arena, which is located on Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam on Oahu.
• The games will be played on the 74th anniversary of the attacks on Pearl Harbor.
• Both games will be televised on Fox Sports 1.
• This will be the first meeting between Navy and Oregon.
• Navy has played in-season tournaments in Hawai'i on three previous occasions.

• Assistant coach Ernie Nestor has coached in Bloch Arena before. As the head coach of George Mason during the 1989-90 season, Nestor coached against Maryland in Bloch Arena during the Chaminade Classic. Maryland defeated George Mason, 104-86, on Dec. 22, 1989 in the opening round of the classic. George Mason later defeated East Carolina and Coppin State in the consolation round of the classic at nearby Blaisdell Arena.
• The U.S. Olympic Team trained in Bloch Arena prior to the 1972 Munich Olympics.
