ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy men's basketball team (9-4) will open its 25th season of Patriot League play at Bucknell (3-8) on Wednesday at 7 PM in Sojka Pavilion. Midshipmen Storylines
• Navy will enter Patriot League play with a 9-4 record.
• Navy had its best non-conference showing in seven years since the team was 11-4 during the 2008-09 season.
• At 9-4, Navy is off to its best start since the 2008-09 season.
• Navy is 10-14 all-time in Patriot League openers and 1-3 under head coach Ed DeChellis.
• Navy is 3-8 on the road in league openers and 6-6 against Bucknell in openers.
• Navy defeated Loyola, 70-47, in its Patriot League opener in Annapolis last season.
• The Mids are an NCAA-best 5-0 in true road games this season.
• Navy is coming off a 62-49 win over Furman last Tuesday.
• The 49 points were the lowest Navy has allowed to a Division I opponent this season.
• Junior guard Tim Abruzzo drilled five 3-pointers for a game-high 16 points.
• Senior guard Tilman Dunbar added 13 points and sophomore forward Jace Hogan had 10 points and eight rebounds.
• Hogan leads the team in scoring (12.3) and rebounding (6.6).
• Hogan has come off the bench to score in double figures in seven straight games.
• Sophomore guard Shawn Anderson ranks second on the team in scoring at 11.7 points per game.
• Senior Will Kelly is averaging 8.6 points and 5.3 rebounds.
• Kelly ranks first in the Patriot League in blocks per game (2.5) and in field goal percentage (.613).
• Kelly ranks 21st in the NCAA in blocks per game (2.5) and is 15th in total blocks (32).
• Navy ranks first in the Patriot League and 12th in the nation in scoring defense (59.5).
• Excluding Navy, the other nine teams in the Patriot League are giving up 76.2 points per game.
• Navy also leads the Patriot League in field goal percentage defense (.404), rebounding defense (30.2) and rebounding margin (+6.5).
Bucknell Storylines
• Bucknell will open conference play with a 3-8 record.
• The Bison opened the season at 3-1, but have lost seven straight games to Siena, Penn State, Columbia, N.C. State, Mount St. Mary's, Princeton and Fairfield.
• Bucknell most recently fell to Fairfield, 101-91, on Sunday.
• Senior guard Chris Haas leads the Bison with 18.1 points per game.
• Sophomore center Nana Foulland averages 12.5 points and 6.6 rebounds.
• Senior guard Ryan Frazier scored 20 points against Fairfield and Haas added 19.
• Bucknell outrebounded Fairfield, 51-24, but gave up 17 3-pointers.
• The Bison rank second in the Patriot League in scoring at 79.7 points per game.
• Bucknell won the 2015 Patriot League Regular Season Championship and played in the 2015 NIT Tournament.
• Bucknell was picked second in the Patriot League Preseason Poll.
• Head coach Nathan Davis is in his first season at Bucknell.

• Bucknell holds a slight 36-35 edge in the all-time series against Navy.
• Bucknell has won three straight games in the series, including a 65-63 win in Lewisburg and a 52-51 win in Annapolis last season.
• Navy's last win in the series was a 62-61 victory ion Jan. 15, 2014 in Annapolis.
• Bucknell has won seven straight games in Sojka Pavilion against Navy, five regular season games and two Patriot League Tournament contests.
