Last Game
Despite Navy suffering through two lengthy droughts without a made field goal, it wasn't until a game-closing 8-1 run before American could finally separate itself from the Mids in a 41-29 victory by the Eagles Wednesday at Alumni Hall in Annapolis.

Navy trailed 21-20 with 18:18 still to play in the game, but American would tally the next 10 points -- over a 10-minute span -- to build a 31-20 lead with 9:14 left on the clock. The Mids broke their scoring drought with a pair of free throw at the 8:27 mark, then sank one more free throw with 6:33 remaining to make the score 33-23 in favor of the Eagles.

That single tally started a 6-0 run by Navy that allowed the Mids to winnow the deficit down to just five points at 33-28. AU missed a shot on its next trip down the court, but the Mids missed a chance to cut into the margin even more when a turnover gave the ball back to the Eagles.

The Eagles ended a nearly five-minute scoring drought on a layup with 2:29 remaining. Ashanti Kennedy was fouled on Navy's next possession, and she made one of her two attempts from the foul line to make the score 35-29 with 2:12 still to play. A turnover by the Eagles gave Navy another chance, but the Mids gave it right back to American on a turnover of their own with 1:46 remaining. Ari Booth would sink one free throw for the Eagles with 1:28 left, then her second missed its mark with the carom being knocked out of bounds by the Mids. Lauren Crisler would score on a layup off the inbounds pass while being fouled to boost the lead out to 39-29 with 1:24 remaining on the clock.

Navy in the Patriot League Tournament
A win by the Mids Saturday or a loss by both Navy and Lehigh would give the Mids the No. 5 seed in the Patriot League Tournament. A loss by Navy coupled with a win by Lehigh gives the Mids the No. 6 seed.

Senior Day
Chloe Stapleton and her family will be recognized in an on-court Senior Day ceremony prior to the start of the game.

About Loyola
Loyola travels to Annapolis with an overall record of 7-21 this season and a 5-12 mark against league foes. This includes road records of 2-11 overall and 2-6 since the start of league play.

The Greyhounds will be the No. 9 seed in the Patriot League Tournament regardless of Saturday's outcome.

The Series
Navy holds a 14-5 record against Loyola in the all-time series between the teams, but has posted just a 4-3 in games played during the last six seasons. The Mids won both games against the Greyhounds last year in Loyola's inaugural Patriot League campaign. Navy also holds an 8-2 advantage in games played in the series on The Yard.

The previous meeting of the squads this year saw Loyola post a 55-49 win over Navy on New Year's Eve Day.
