BOSTON - Navy women's track and field junior distance runner Meghan Harvey (Nottingham, Pa.) placed fifth in the 1000m run finals at the 2015 ECAC Championship on Sunday.
"Meghan [Harvey] had a great showing over this past two days and we could not have been more proud," said Navy head coach Carla Criste. "We will now look ahead to the second portion of our season in outdoors."
Harvey, who broke the school record and placed second in Saturday's prelims, finished fifth out of nine runners in the 1000m run with a time of 2:51.31. Harvey garnered her first career All-East laurels and Navy's four total points.
Navy's distance medley relay team of seniors Maria Arnone, Christina Blair and Shannon Cuthbert and junior Ashley Ross finished 19th out of 23 squads, crossing the tape at 12:11.33.
Connecticut, who won for the second-straight year, led all teams with 53 points, while Albany (48 points), St. John's (48 points), Georgetown (46 points) and Liberty (43 points) rounded out the top five. Navy placed tied for 38th with four points.
Navy will begin its preparation for the outdoor season with Towson Invitational on Saturday, March 28.
