April 26, 2015 PHILADELPHIA -- The Navy women's track and field team competed in this weekend's three-day 121st Penn Relays at Franklin Field. Navy recorded two top-20 finishes.
"I am very proud of our three athletes that competed in a very strong field of competitors," Navy head coach Carla Criste said. "We hope to see Crystan [Mclymore], Morgan [O'Connor] and Ashanti [Curry] bring over those strong performances into the Patriot League Championship."
Freshman Ashanti Curry continued her strong 2015 campaign with a 20th-place finish in the shot put college division. Curry recorded a mark of 42ft-10.25in (14.06m). The freshman thrower currently ranks 59th in the East Region in shot put and will look to improve her mark in next weekend's Patriot League Championship.
Junior Crystan McLymore placed 25th out of 45th competitors in the triple jump. Mclymore tallied a mark of 38ft-6.75in (11.74m). Junior Morgan O'Connor finished 20th in the 3000-meter run with a time of 10:40.13.
Navy will prepare for the 2015 Patriot League Championship, hosted by Army West Point, in West Point. The championship will be a two-day even beginning on Friday.
