PRINCETON, N.J. -- The Navy women's track and field team competed at the 2015 ECAC Championship at William Weaver Track and Field Stadium in Princeton, New Jersey.ÂÂ
"We did not record the individual marks we were aiming at this weekend's meet," Navy head coach Carla Criste said. "Hopefully we can use this meet as a stepping stone to improve from this."
Junior Crystan McLymore (Raleigh, N.C.) led Navy at this weekend's meet, recording a team-best 11th-place individual finish in the triple jump. Mclymore recorded a jump of 39ft-2.5in (11.95m). Navy's 4x800m relay team of seniors Christina Blair (Peninsula, Ohio), Shannon Cuthbert (Orange Park, Fla.), Amanda Graham (Wakefield, R.I.) and Madeline Zell (Severna Park, Md.) placed second with a time of 9:05.46.
Freshmen Charlene Kearns (Rochester, N.Y.) and Ashanti Curry (Jacksonville, N.C.) finished 15th in their respective events. Kearns placed 15th in the pole vault with a mark of 12ft-0in (3.66m). Curry garnered 15th place in the shot put with a throw of 41ft-2.25in (12.55m).
In the distance events, senior Christina Blair recorded a 21st-place finish in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 11:02.83. Junior Michelle Nelson placed 30th in the 10000m run, crossing the tape at 38:45.82.
Navy will wait to see if it next competes in the NCAA's East Region Championship in Jacksonville, Florida from May 28-30. The NCAA will announce the meet's accepted entries later in the week.
