ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Army West Point and Navy will play a men's and women's basketball doubleheader at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Saturday, January 23.

Army West Point officially announced the event on Monday, as the games are taking place of the usual Army-Navy basketball doubleheader at West Point this season. The two schools will meet for the season's second basketball doubleheader in Annapolis on Saturday, February 20.

The Army-Navy men's and women's doubleheader at Madison Square Garden will be designated as the "Star Games" for the 2015-16 season.

The Navy men's basketball team has played six games at Madison Square Garden, including four NCAA Tournament games and one National Invitation Tournament contest. The Navy men last played at Madison Square Garden during the 1971-72 season against Manhattan.

The Navy women will be playing their first game at Madison Square Garden.

Tip-off times, television, radio and ticket information will be announced at a later date.
