Navy will begin its home slate by playing host to North Carolina A&T on Nov. 22 followed by the Nov. 27-28 Navy Classic. A game between Colorado State and Morgan State will open the two-day tournament, with the Mids playing host to Siena in the second of two contests on the day. The championship and consolation games of the event will be held the ensuing afternoon. The Mids then close out their homestand with a Dec. 2 game against LIU Brooklyn.
Additional non-league home games for the Mids include a Dec. 8 contest against Johns Hopkins and a Dec. 21 game against Air Force. Navy's Patriot League season begins Dec. 30 when the Mids play host to Bucknell.
Navy will be playing two non-league games and three games in all this season in some of the college basketball's most historic venues. That stretch starts with a Dec. 5 game at Penn in The Palestra and continues with a Dec. 13 game at Kansas in Phog Allen Field House. Navy will then take on Army West Point on Jan. 23 in Madison Square Garden in what will be the program's inaugural game in the World's Most Famous Arena, as well as the Star Game between the two programs. The Army-Navy men's Star Game also will take place in the venerable facility on that same day. Times and ticket information for the doubleheader have not been announced.
The second Army-Navy game will be contested Feb. 20 in Alumni Hall as part of a doubleheader with the two men's team. The women's game will start the day with an 11 a.m. contest, with the two men's teams taking to the court at 1:30 p.m.
The 2016 women's Patriot League Tournament will feature a slightly different format than has been utilized in past seasons. The No. 7 vs. No. 10 and No. 8 vs. No. 9 first-round games will be played on March 5 at the home of the higher-seeded team in both games. Those two winning teams and the remainder of the league squads will then play quarterfinal round tilts on March 7, with each of the four games also being contested at the home of the higher-seeded team in each game. The four winning teams will then meet in semifinal round games on March 11 at the home of the top remaining seed in the tournament, with the championship game taking place the following day in the same venue.
Ticket information for Navy home games will be announced on Sept. 8.
