ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy men's soccer team (3-4-1, 0-0-0 PL) will open its 25th season of Patriot League play by hosting Loyola (1-4-1, 0-0-0 PL) on Saturday evening at 8 PM at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility. The game will follow the Navy-Loyola women's match at 5:30 PM.
The game will be broadcast on the Patriot League Network and Ben Gordon-Goldstein will have the play-by-play. Live statistics will also be available.
Navy is coming off a 3-2 double-overtime loss at home to William & Mary on Tuesday. Freshman Daniel Kwon and junior Mark Shiiba each scored their first career goals on Tuesday. William & Mary's Antonio Bustamante scored the game-winning goal in the 103rd minute.
Prior to the William & Mary contest, Navy had defeated Saint Joseph's, 1-0, in overtime on a game-winning goal from junior Sam Bascom in the 96th minute.
Senior Derek Vogel and sophomore Aubrey Jones share the team lead of six points. Vogel has two goals and two assists and Jones has three goals.
Senior Jackson Morgan is this week's Patriot League Corvias Goalkeeper of the Week and senior P.J. Suess is the Patriot League Corvias Defensive Player of the Week.
Morgan has a 1.19 goals-against average and a .744 save percentage.
Navy is currently ranked 10th in the NSCAA Northeast Region Poll.
Loyola is 1-4-1 on the season and the team is coming off a 1-0 loss at George Washington last Saturday. Loyola's lone win of the season came over then-No. 11 UMBC, 1-0, on Sept. 12.
Loyola has been outscored this season, 10-2. Brennan Goldsmith and Brad Warenicz have tallied the goals for the Greyhounds this season. Goalkeeper Matt Sanchez is 1-4-1 with a 1.61 goals-against average and a .667 save percentage.
Navy leads the all-time series against Loyola, 2-1-2. Navy is 1-0-1 against the Greyhounds since the team joined the Patriot League prior to the 2013 season.
Navy and Loyola tied, 1-1, last season in Baltimore. Joseph Greenspan, a 2015 graduate and two-time All-American, scored Navy's lone goal in the series.
Loyola was 5-8-4 overall last season and tied for seventh in the Patriot League with eight points on a 2-5-2 league mark.
Navy will next face Army West Point in the Army-Navy Cup IV at PPL Park in Chester, Pa. on Friday, October 2 at 7:00 PM. The game will be televised by the American Sports Network, with the specific television clearances being announced at a later date. The Army-Navy Cup III drew 10,168 fans to PPL Park last year and saw Navy post a 1-0 double-overtime victory. Tickets are available at comcasttix.com.
Parking / Shuttle Information
Fans are reminded that the general public does not have access to drive their vehicles on to the U.S. Naval Academy. Fans may park at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium for $10 and take a shuttle that will run every 10 minutes starting at 4:30 PM, one hour prior to the start of the Navy-Loyola women's game and will continue running until 11:30 PM. Dogs are not permitted inside the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility.

• All fans who purchase a ticket to the women's soccer game vs. Loyola game at 5:30 PM receive free admission to the men's game. Conversely, a ticket for the men's game will also grant admission for the women's contest.
• Youth Soccer Month - September is Youth Soccer Month and to celebrate, Navy Soccer is giving out free t-shirts and giveaways while supplies last.
• Navy Spirit Night - All fans are encouraged to wear blue to show their Navy spirit! Pom poms will be given out to all fans while supplies last.
• Scout Night - All Boy and Girl Scouts are invited to attend the game for $5 when they purchase tickets in advance using the promotion code "SOCCERSCOUT."
• Family Night Out - For $30, a family receives four tickets, four hot dogs, and four Pepsi products
