About Holy Cross
The Crusaders stopped a two-game skid with a 59-54 victory over American Tuesday night at home. The victory improved their record in league play to 5-3 and their overall mark on the year to 8-11.

The Series
Holy Cross holds a 42-16 advantage in the all-time series with Navy, which includes a 19-9 edge in games played on The Yard. The Crusaders also have posted a league regular season record of 35-14 against the Mids, which includes a 17-7 advantage when the game is played in Annapolis.

Navy's record against Holy Cross was 4-36 overall and 3-15 in home games prior to the arrival of head coach Stefanie Pemper. In her eight seasons on The Yard, her teams have compiled a 12-6 record against the Crusaders and are 6-4 in home games.

Holy Cross has won each of the last four games played in the series, a run that began in the semifinal round of the 2014 Patriot League Tournament.

Holy Cross 57, Navy 49 (Jan. 2)
Holy Cross posted a 57-49 win over the Mids in the first meeting of the season.

Navy had battled back from a 10-point deficit in the third quarter to close to within 45-44 with just over four minutes left in the game. Tricia Byrne, who had made six three-point field goals on the season â€"â€" including one earlier in the game â€"â€" connected on back-to-back triples before sinking a pair of foul shots to account for all of the eight points in the run.

The Mids sliced the margin down to four points with 45 seconds remaining, but a 4-4 effort from the foul line by Holy Cross over the game's waning seconds thwarted any further comeback by Navy.

Holy Cross shot 42 percent from the field and was 9-17 (52.9%) from three-point land while Navy made just 31.1 percent of its shots and was only 5-18 (27.8%) from three-point range.

Ashanti Kennedy scored 18 points to lead the Mids.
