ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Ryenn Micaletti recently joined the Navy women's basketball program as an assistant coach.

"We are excited about what Ryenn will bring to our program as she has an authentic way of connecting with people," said Navy head coach Stefanie Pemper. "She has experience as a player on an NCAA Tournament team and has coached championship teams. Her competitive spirit will translate well on the court with our women. Ryenn's enthusiasm for this prestigious institution and Navy women's basketball is contagious."

Micaletti arrives on The Yard after serving as an assistant coach at Slippery Rock for the past two seasons. The Rock, which competes on the NCAA Division II level, posted a combined record of 24-31 in her stint at the school. Prior to that, she was an assistant coach at fellow Division II program Indiana (Pa.) for the 2013-14 season -- 18-10 record -- and at Point Park University for the 2011-12 and 2012-13 campaigns. The Pioneers advanced to the NAIA Division II Tournament in both of her seasons and amassed a two-year mark of 48-14.

The New Castle, Pa., native played four years of collegiate basketball at Seton Hill. The squad posted a 45-16 record over the course of her last two seasons and advanced to the NCAA (DII) Tournament during her junior year. Micaletti was Seton Hill's starting point guard in every game as a senior.

In addition to graduating from Seton Hill in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history, she also attained a Master of Arts degree in curriculum and instruction (adult education and training specialization) from Point Park in 2016.

"I am truly honored to be afforded this opportunity to work for Stefanie Pemper and her unbelievable staff at the United States Naval Academy," said Micaletti. "The USNA is one of the most prestigious institutions in the world. I am looking forward to positively contributing to this program and to the lives of these amazing young women to the best of my abilities. Two of my uncles are veterans of the Navy and have shared with pride what they learned through their service. To coach for the USNA is a dream come true."
