About American
American makes the short drive to Annapolis with an overall record of 6-20 on the season and with a 4-11 mark in league play. The Eagles have posted a 3-12 record in road games this season, a mark that includes a 2-6 record away from home against league foes.
All but two of the team's 11 league losses this season have come in games decided by single digits. This includes six losses by no more than six points.
The Series
American has won the last four games against Navy to build a 27-20 advantage in the all-time series between the teams. The Eagles also hold a slim 15-13 edge in Patriot League regular season games played against the Mids.
Navy holds advantages over American in games played on The Yard in both all games (14-9) and league regular season games (8-5).
The two teams will play one week from tonight in Washington, D.C., on the final night of the league's regular season.
Playoff Picture
Navy's playoff picture has cleared up somewhat in that the Mids have assured themselves of not playing a first round game on March 5. Currently tied for fifth place, Navy can still be seeded anywhere from Nos. 3-6 for the league tournament. If seeded Nos. 3 or 4, the Mids will play host to a quarterfinal round game on March 7. If seeded Nos. 5 or 6, Navy will play that quarterfinal round game on the road.
