CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Navy men's basketball junior guard Shawn Anderson has been named the Patriot League Player of the Week for the week ending January 22, the league office announce Monday. The Patriot League Player of the Week award is presented by The Rock.

Anderson scored a career-best 30 points in Navy's 96-80 overtime win over rival Army West Point on Saturday. Anderson shot 8-of-19 from the floor and 13-of-17 from the free throw line. In addition to his 30 points, Anderson also had six rebounds, five assists and a steal against Army.

Anderson became the first player in the Ed DeChellis era (sixth season) to score 30 points in a game.

Anderson also had 11 points, five rebounds and four assists in a 75-72 win over Lehigh last Wednesday. Anderson scored the go-ahead layup after Navy rallied from an 11-point second half deficit against Lehigh. Anderson averaged a team-high 20.5 points in Navy's two wins last week.

This is Anderson's second Patriot League Player of the Week award. He was also named the Patriot League Player of the Week last season on Jan. 11, 2016.

Navy (10-10, 5-3 PL) will next carry its five-game winning streak into a midweek contest at American on Wednesday at 7:30 PM.
