Navy Takes Five-Game Winning Streak to American Wednesday

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy men's basketball team (10-10, 5-3 PL) will play its fourth road game in five outings at American (5-14, 2-6 PL) on Wednesday at 7:30 PM in Bender Arena. Navy enters Wednesday's contest on a five-game winning streak and is coming off a 96-80 overtime win at rival Army on Saturday.

Wednesday's game will have free live video on PatriotLeague.TV and navysports.com. Pete Medhurst and Michael Heary will have the Navy radio call on 1430 AM / 99.9 FM WNAV in Annapolis and on 1050 AM WBQH, a sister station of WFED, in Washington, D.C. Live statistics will also be available.

Midshipmen Storylines
• Navy (10-10, 5-3 PL) is seeking a sixth straight win on Wednesday at American.
• Navy won its fifth straight game at Army on Saturday, 96-80, in overtime.
• Junior guard Shawn Anderson scored a career-high 30 points with six rebounds and five assists against Army.
• Junior guard Bryce Dulin tallied 21 points and 17 rebounds, while sophomore point guard Hasan Abdullah scored 21 points.
• Anderson, Dulin and Abdullah became the first Navy trio to score at least 20 points in the same game since David Robinson, Vernon Butler and Kylor Whitaker in 1985.
• Navy has won five straight games at Christl Arena and the Class of 2017 is the second straight class to go 4-0 at its rival.
• Navy opened the Patriot League season at 0-3 and is now in a four-way tie for second place in the conference with Boston U., Holy Cross and Lehigh.
• Navy lost its first seven games away from home this season, but has now won three straight road games at Loyola (75-62), Lafayette (88-51) and Army (96-80 OT).
• Navy has also defeated Colgate (67-55) and Lehigh (75-72) during its five-game winning streak.

• Anderson was named the Patriot League Player of the Week and the NAAA Athlete of the Week for his performances in Navy's wins over Lehigh and Army last week.
• In addition to his 30-point performance at Army, Anderson had 11 points, five rebounds and four assists in Navy's win over preseason favorite Lehigh.
• Anderson leads Navy in scoring (12.4) and assists (3.1) this season, while ranking second in rebounding (5.2).
• Anderson ranks 37th in program history in career scoring with 790 points.
• Sophomore forward George Kiernan is second on the team in scoring at 9.0 points per game.
• Abdullah ranks third in scoring (8.4), first in steals (2.1) and second in assists (3.0).
• Abdullah ranks 25th in the NCAA in total steals (41) and is 30th in steals per game (2.05). He ranks second in the Patriot League in steals per game.
• Dulin ranks fourth in scoring at 8.2 points per game and has averaged 16.0 points and 6.3 rebounds in Navy's last four games.
• In conference only game, Dulin leads the Patriot League in 3-point field goal percentage (.550). He is 11-of-20 on 3-pointers in league play.
• Junior forward Tom Lacey is fifth on the team in scoring at 8.0 points per game and is first in rebounding (7.3).
• Lacey ranks fourth in the Patriot League in overall rebounds per game (7.3) and is first in offensive rebounds per game (2.8).

• American enters Wednesday's game on a short turnaround after falling at Holy Cross, 63-55, on Monday evening.
• The Eagles shot 50 percent from the floor, but committed 23 turnovers and shot just 5-of-12 from the free throw line.
• Sophomore Delante Jones scored a game-high 18 points with six rebounds.
• Freshman Mark Gasperini scored 11 points with four rebounds.
• Freshman guard Sa'eed Nelson leads American in scoring with 15.3 points per game.
• Nelson leads the Patriot League in steals per game (2.6) and plays a Patriot League-best 38.4 minutes per game.
• Jones is second on the team in scoring at 12.3 points and Gasperini is third at 11.4.
• American's two league wins came over Colgate in overtime, 67-64, and Lafayette, 71-57.
