ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The 11th-ranked Navy squash team dropped a 9-0 decision to eighth-ranked Yale (5-5) Saturday afternoon at the Halsey Field House International Squash Courts. The Mids are now 15-5 on the year with four of their five losses coming against teams ranked in the top 10 at the time of the match (#9 Drexel, #8 Dartmouth, #7 Penn and #8 Yale).

Four of Navy's nine losses to the Bulldogs were in extended matches. Navy's #1 player on the ladder, Jack Herold (Jr / Chicago, Ill.), took Yale's Spencer Lovejoy, the nation's top-ranked juniors player a year ago, to four games after winning the opening game, 11-5.

Number six on the ladder, Michael Kacergis (Fr / Malvern, Pa.) (18-2) was turned back for just the second time this year, in an 11-8, 12-14, 11-5, 11-7 decision against Yale junior Pierson Broadwater.

Sophomore Jamie Kjorlien (Greenwich, Conn.), who played the #7 position, opened with an 11-5 victory over Yale rookie Calvin McCafferty, but would lose the next three in a 3-1 loss.

Team captain Randy Beck (Sr / Lafayette Hill, Pa) also won his opening game at the #9 slot against Yale sophomore Jay Losty, but fell in four games.

Navy returns to action next weekend when it makes a pair of stops on the road. The Mids will play at Hobart (5:00 pm) on Friday evening and at Haverford (3:00 pm) on Saturday afternoon.
