ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy men's basketball team (1-1) will continue its three-game road swing by playing at Penn (0-2) on Wednesday at 7:00 PM in the Palestra. Navy is in the midst of a four-game, four-state, nine-day season-opening stretch of games.

Midshipmen Storylines
• Navy opened the season by playing back-to-back ACC opponents.
• The Mids defeated Pitt, 71-62, at home in the Veterans Classic on Friday evening and then fell to No. 13 Miami, 89-55, on Sunday afternoon in Florida.
• The victory over Pitt was the first time that Navy beat a team that was in the ACC at the time of the game since beating Wake Forest in 1971.
• Senior guard Bryce Dulin scored a team-high 18 points with eight rebounds in the win over Pitt and senior guard Shawn Anderson added 15 points with a career-high nine rebounds and five assists.
• In the loss at Miami on Sunday, junior point guard Hasan Abdullah scored a team-high 13 points with three steals, while senior forward Tom Lacey posted 10 points, five rebounds, two assists and two blocked shots.
• Junior forward George Kiernan is one of the five Mids to score in double figures this season with his 11 points in 13 minutes against Miami.
• Through two games, Anderson and Abdullah share the team lead in scoring average at 10.5 points. Anderson is also averaging 7.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists.
• Lacey is averaging 9.0 points and 6.5 rebounds, and Dulin is averaging 9.0 points and a team-best 8.0 rebounds. Kiernan is averaging 8.5 points in just 10.5 minutes.
• Navy is receiving votes in this week's College Insider Men's Mid-Major Top 25 Poll.
• Navy is leading the Patriot League in free throw percentage through two games at 81.5 percent. Navy shot 64.1 percent from the free throw line last season.
• This season marked the first time that Navy played two ACC opponents in the same year since 1997-98 (20 years ago) when the Mids opened the season at Wake Forest and closed the season against North Carolina in the NCAA Tournament.
• Navy is opening the season with four games in four states (Maryland, Florida, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island) in a nine-day span.
• Ed DeChellis is in his seventh season as Navy's head coach.
• DeChellis is 4-1 all-time against Penn.

Penn Storylines
• Penn has opened the 2017-18 season with a pair of close losses.
• The Quakers lost at Fairfield in their opener, 80-72, last Saturday, and fell at home to La Salle in double overtime Monday night, 75-71, in a Big 5 game.
• Sophomore guard Ryan Betley scored 20 points with 10 rebounds in the loss to Fairfield, while junior guard Darnell Fore-man scored 17.
• Betley scored 14 points to pace five players in double figures in the double-overtime loss to La Salle.
• All five of Penn's starters played at least 38 minutes against La Salle, while Betley and sophomore forward AJ Brodeur each played 46 minutes.
• Betley is averaging 17.0 points for Penn, while Foreman is second on the team with 14.0. • Penn took 39 3-pointers in the season-opener against Fairfield.

Series History vs. Penn
• Navy and Penn will be meeting for the 85th time in series history on Wednesday.
• Only Army and American have played Navy more times than Penn.
• The two teams will be meeting for the fourth consecutive season.
• Penn leads the all-time series against Navy, 58-26, but Navy has won close contests in the last two meetings and also four of the last five overall.
• Navy defeated Penn in Annapolis last year, 70-68, and the Mids won at the Palestra during the 2015-16 season, 65-59.
• Navy's Shawn Anderson scored the go-ahead layup with 16 seconds remaining for Navy in the contest last season and then took a game-saving offensive charge with 1.4 seconds left to seal the win.
• Two seasons ago, Anderson scored a go-ahead layup with 43 seconds left and then hit two free throws with 16 seconds left to seal the win at the Palestra.

Looking Ahead: Mids Fly to Bryant for Third Straight Road Game
• Navy's fourth game, in a fourth different state, in the first nine games of the season will be at Bryant (0-1) on Saturday at 4:00 PM.
• Navy rallied from a school-record 25-point deficit to defeat Bryant last year in Annapolis, 76-74.
• This will be the fourth meeting between the two schools.
• Navy holds a 2-1 lead in the series.
