The Game
Navy takes to the road again Saturday for a 2 p.m. game at Lafayette. WNAV-AM 1430 will carry the game live after the conclusion of the noon Navy-Maryland men's lacrosse game. The Patriot League Network will carry a live video stream of the game, with links to both that as well as live statistics from the game being available at NavySports.com.
Navy Update
Navy improved its records to 10-2 in the league and 17-6 overall with a 55-43 win at Loyola Wednesday night.
Lafayette Update
Lafayette snapped a 22-game losing streak and a 14-game league losing streak (dating back to last year) with an 85-70 win at Holy Cross Wednesday. Six of the team's 11 league losses (1-11) this season have been by single digits, with two of those defeats coming in overtime games. Lafayette has posted an overall record of 2-22 this year.
The Series
Navy and Lafayette have met annually since the 1979-80 season, making this the longest continuous series in Navy history and the Leopards the most faced opponent for the Mids. Navy enters the game with an overall advantage of 47-21 and a 37-14 lead in league regular season games played between the teams. Navy also holds edges of 17-13 in all games played at Easton and 15-10 in league games played at Lafayette. Nine of the last 11 games in the series that have been played in Easton have been decided by single digits â€"â€" three of which went into overtime â€"â€" with seven of those 11 games determined by no more than five points. Navy defeated Lafayette, 76-41, earlier this season.
