ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The fourth-seeded Navy men's basketball team (15-15, 10-8 PL) will host fifth-seeded Holy Cross (15-16, 9-9 PL) in a Patriot League Tournament Quarterfinal contest on Thursday evening at Alumni Hall at 7:00 PM. The winner will advance to the Patriot League Tournament Semifinals on Sunday against the winner of the No. 9 Army West Point at No. 1 Bucknell quarterfinal game.

Thursday's game will have free live streaming video on the Patriot League Network and navysports.com. Pete Medhurst will call the game on the live video stream and he will also have the radio call on 1430 AM / 99.9 FM WNAV in Annapolis. Live statistics will be available.

Midshipmen Storylines
• The fourth-seeded Navy men's basketball team will open Patriot League Tournament play by hosting No. 5 Holy Cross on Thursday evening.
• Navy is hosting its first tournament quarterfinal game since 2009 and the Mids are seeking its first quarterfinal victory since 2001.
• Navy is 11-2 all-time in Patriot League Tournament games played in Annapolis.
• Under head coach Ed DeChellis, Navy increased its conference win total for the fifth straight season.
• Navy's 10 league wins were the most since going 11-1 in the Patriot League in 2000.
• Navy enters the tournament on a four-game losing skid. The Mids also lost their first three games of conference play before putting together a stretch of 10 wins in 11 games in the middle of their league slate.
• Navy placed fourth in the league standings last season, but the Mids were in a four-way tie for fourth and ended up as the No. 7 seed.
• The No. 4 seed is the highest for Navy since being the No. 3 seed in 2009.
• Junior guard Shawn Anderson was recently named to the All-Patriot League Second Team.
• Anderson is leading Navy in scoring for the second straight season at 12.1 points per game.
• Anderson is second on the team in rebounding (4.5), assists (3.0) and steals per game (1.2).
• Anderson ranks 16th in the Patriot League in scoring, 20th in rebounding, 12th in assists and ninth in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.3).
• Junior guard Bryce Dulin was named to the Patriot League All-Defensive Team earlier this week.
• Dulin has emerged as the top defender on one of the Patriot League's best defensive teams.
• Dulin is tied for second on the team in scoring in overall games (9.1).
• Dulin ranks third on the team in rebounding (4.1), third in assists (1.9) and third in steals per game (0.8). He ranks second on the team with nine offensive charges drawn.
• Dulin ranks second in the Patriot League in 3-point field goal percentage in overall games (.429) and is first in conference-only games (.490). Dulin is 14th in the Patriot League in field goal percentage (.464).
• Sophomore point guard Hasan Abdullah is tied for second on the team in scoring with Dulin at 9.1 points per game.
• Abdullah ranks first on the team in assists (3.2) and is first in 3-pointers made (48).
• Abdullah ranks 26th in the NCAA in total steals (58) and his 58 steals are the eighth most in a single season in Navy history.
• Sophomore forward George Kiernan is fourth on the team in scoring at 8.4 points per game and is second in 3-pointers made (43).
• Junior forward Tom Lacey leads Navy in rebounding (7.8) and is fifth in scoring (7.7).
• Lacey ranks third in the Patriot League in overall rebounds and is first in offensive rebounds per game (3.1).
• Lacey ranks 36th in the NCAA in offensive rebounds per game (3.2).
• Lacey's 93 offensive rebounds this season rank as the fourth most in a single season at Navy since the statistic was consistently tracked in 1987. He is also 13th in defensive rebounds (140) since 1987.
• Lacey's 233 overall rebounds rank as the 19th most all-time in school history.
• Senior center Edward Alade is tied for seventh in school history in career games played with 118.
• Navy ranks 27th in the NCAA turnovers forced per game (15.6), 31st in offensive rebounds per game (12.8), 33rd in scoring defense (64.8) and 46th in rebounding margin (+5.0).
• As a team, Navy ranks first in the Patriot League in rebounding margin (+5.0) and offensive rebounds per game (12.8). Navy is second in the conference in scoring defense (64.8) and second in turnover margin (+1.0).
• Navy has had 12 different players score in double figures in a game this season.

Holy Cross Storylines
• Holy Cross is the reigning Patriot League Tournament Champion.
• The Crusaders were the No. 9 seed in the 2016 tournament and won four straight road games to capture the league crown and automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.
• The Crusaders won at No. 8 Loyola (72-67), No. 1 Bucknell (77-72, 2OT), No. 4 Army West Point (60-38) and at No. 2 Lehigh (59-56) in the championship.
• Holy Cross then defeated Southern, 59-55, in an NCAA First Four game before falling to No. 1 Oregon, 91-52, in the NCAA First Round.
• Senior forward Malachi Alexander was recently named to the All-Patriot League Second Team.
• Alexander averages 13.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.8 steals in a team-high 34.4 minutes per game.
• Alexander, a Bowie, Maryland native, was also named to the Patriot League All-Defensive Team.
• Senior guard Robert Champion leads Holy Cross in scoring at 13.5 points per game.
• Sophomore forward Karl Charles averages 9.4 points, 3.3 rebounds and a team-high 3.6 assists.
• Holy Cross leads the Patriot League in scoring defense at 62.5 points allowed per game.
• The Crusaders also lead the Patriot League in steals per game (9.4) and turnover margin (+5.0).
• Holy Cross ranks third in the NCAA in turnover margin (+5.0), fifth in total steals (290) and 15th in scoring defense (62.5).
• Bill Carmody is in his second season as the head coach of Holy Cross.
• Navy's Ed DeChellis was 12-4 against Carmody from 2004 to 2011 when the two were head coaches in the Big Ten at Penn State and Northwestern, respectively.

Series History vs. Holy Cross
• Holy Cross leads the overall series against Navy, 42-21, and is 3-1 against Navy in Patriot League Tournament games.
• The two teams last met in the postseason tournament in 2006 when Holy Cross posted a 78-50 win over Navy in the quarterfinal round in Worcester.
• Navy's lone win against Holy Cross in the postseason tournament was a 93-91 overtime win in the semifinal round in 1994 en route to Navy winning the tournament title.
• Holy Cross and Navy split the 2016-17 regular season series.
• Holy Cross defeated Navy on Jan. 2 in Worcester, 51-50.
• Navy had a one-point lead (50-49) and a one-and-one free throw opportunity with six seconds remaining, but missed the front-end free throw and Patrick Benzan scored the game-winning layup with 0.1 second remaining.
• George Kiernan led Navy with 18 points off the bench and Tom Lacey recorded 11 points and eight rebounds.
• Malachi Alexander scored a game-high 17 points for the Crusaders.
• Navy won the rematch in Annapolis on Jan. 28, 60-47. Shawn Anderson scored 15 points with four rebounds, six assists and six steals.
• Hasan Abdullah and Bryce Dulin each scored 10 points, while Tom Lacey scored five points with a game-high 15 rebounds.
• Navy outshot Holy Cross 50 percent (22-of-44) to 34 percent (15-of-44). Navy made six 3-pointers in the first half and nine in the game and outrebounded the Crusaders, 36-27.

Looking Ahead
• A Navy win over Holy Cross would advance the Mids to the Patriot League Tournament Semifinals on Sunday, March 5.
• The Navy-Holy Cross winner will play the winner of Army-Bucknell. If Navy wins and No. 9 Army upsets No. 1 Bucknell, the Mids would host Army in the semifinal contest. If Bucknell defeats Army, the Bison would host the semifinal.

Patriot League Tournament Notes
• Navy is making its 26th appearance in the Patriot League Tournament.
• Navy is 15-22 all-time in the Patriot League Tournament and 4-18 in the quarterfinal game.
• Navy has not won a quarterfinal game since 2001 (0-14).
• Navy is 11-2 in tournament games played in Annapolis, but has lost its last two in 2008 and 2009.
• Navy is 1-3 all-time against Holy Cross in the postseason tournament.

Parking / Shuttle Information
All fans attending the game are encouraged to park at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. Fans can enter Gate 5 off Taylor Ave. and pay $5 for parking. The shuttle is free and the pick up and drop off spot is in front of the Blue Angel plane. The shuttle will run from one hour before the start of the game to one hour after the game concludes. Fans ages 18 and over need photo ID to enter the Academy. Parking at the stadium is the best option for fans attending the game. Due to Naval Academy security restrictions, the general public can not drive their vehicles on to the Yard. The pedestrian entries at Gate 1, Gate 3 and Gate 8, will be open.
