ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The visiting Campbell Fighting Camels (2-1) scored the game-winning goal in the 105th minute of double overtime to defeat Navy (0-3), 2-1, on Thursday evening at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility.
With just five minutes remaining in the second overtime period, Campbell's Gabe Parrish tapped a ball to Josh Hughes, who one-touched a shot from 18 yards out that deflected off a Navy defender and found its way to the left post to end the game.
"It was a heartbreaking loss," said Navy head coach Tim O'Donohue. "We had our chances to win tonight, and we have to keep battling. The guys are playing hard and I thought a lot of guys played well. We controlled play in the first half. But then they came back in the second half. We took the momentum back late, but then we gave up the goal in overtime."
