ANNAPOLIS, Md. – On the heels of the program's third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance, the Navy women's lacrosse team officially announced its 2020 schedule. The Midshipmen play 17 regular season games, including nine home games. The Midshipmen will play five regular season games against teams that participated in the 2019 NCAA Tournament, including the reigning National Champion.
Navy opens up the season at home against NCAA Quarterfinalist Virginia on Saturday, Feb. 8 at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.
Following the game with the Cavaliers, the Midshipmen travel to Philadelphia to take on Saint Joseph's on Wednesday, Feb. 12. That weekend, the Mids welcome Duke to Annapolis for a game on Sunday, Feb. 16, and play host to Villanova the following weekend on Saturday, Feb. 22.
The Mids head to College Park to take on defending National Champion Maryland (Wednesday, March 4) before heading to Gainesville, Fla. to take on 2019 NCAA Tournament participant Florida on Tuesday, March 10. The Midshipmen close out the three-game road trip by opening up Patriot League competition with a game at Bucknell on Saturday, March 14.
Navy returns home for a midweek nonconference game against Mount St. Mary's on Wednesday, March 18, before continuing conference play at Lehigh on Saturday, March 21.
The Mids host four of the next five games, welcoming Lafayette (Wednesday, March 25), Colgate (Saturday, March 28), NCAA participant Georgetown (Wednesday, April 8), and Holy Cross (Saturday, April 11) to Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. Breaking up the homestand is a road game with Boston University on Saturday, April 4.
On Wednesday, April 15, the Mids travel to Washington, D.C. for a game against American.
The annual Army-Navy Star Game as part of the Army-Navy Star Series presented by USAA will be in West Point, N.Y. on Saturday, April 18 as part of a doubleheader with the men's team.
Following the Army-Navy tilt, the Midshipmen host NCAA Tournament participant Loyola to conclude the regular season on Thursday, April 23.
The Patriot League Tournament will feature six teams with the top two seeds receiving a bye, while quarterfinal contests will be played between the 3-6 and 4-5 seeds on Sunday, April 26. The Patriot League semifinals will be played on Thursday, April 30 at the site of the top seed with the championship slated for Saturday, May 2.
The NCAA Tournament begins on Friday, May 8 and concludes with the National Championship game at Homewood Field in Baltimore, Md. on Sunday, May 24.
