CENTER VALLEY, Pa. –– Navy outside hitter Maddi Sgattoni (Jr., Pittsburgh, Pa.) earned Second-Team All-Patriot League accolades on Monday.  The teams, which were voted on by the league's head volleyball coaches, were announced today by the league office.

This is the second year in a row in which Sgattoni has received accolades from the league.  She was a first-team all-league recipient in 2018 before being selected as the MVP of the 2018 Patriot League Tournament.

This year, Sgattoni ranks fourth in the Patriot League with an average of 3.44 kills per set and is third in aces per set with her average of 0.34.  She ended the 16-match league season ranked fourth in kills (3.48 kps) and third in aces (0.41 saps).  Sgattoni recorded 10 or more kills in 17 matches and had at least 20 kills in three matches.  She also reached double figures in digs in 11 matches and posted 10 double-doubles.

Sgattoni became the eighth player in Navy Division I (since 1991) history to record 1,000 career kills when she surpassed the mark during Navy's five-set victory over Lafayette Sunday afternoon.  She enters the Patriot League Tournament with 1,002 kills, 735 digs and 118 career aces (seventh at Navy) in her career.

Navy, which finished in a tie for third place in the final Patriot League regular season standings with an 11-5 record but is the No. 4 seed in the league tournament, will play host to No. 5 Lehigh Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the quarterfinal round of the event.  

American, the tournament's No. 1 seed, received four all-league awards, No. 2 seed Colgate garnered three all-league accolades, No. 3 seed Army had two players recognized, Lehigh received two all-league nods and sixth-seeded Loyola earned two awards.
