CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Navy junior
Kelly Larkin (Alexandria, Va.) was named the Patriot League Attacker of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday. The accolade is the third for Larkin this season and it is the 13th weekly Patriot League honor of her career.
Larkin led Navy to a pair of Patriot League victories on the week, defeating Lehigh (W, 23-6) and Holy Cross (W, 22-6). She scored a team-best 17 points, leading the team with eight goals and nine assists despite playing in approximately 75 of the 120 minutes of game time in the two games.
The Alexandria native notched a pair of hat tricks on the week, scoring five goal against the Mountain Hawks and adding three against the Crusaders. Larkin registered five assists against Lehigh, while chipping in four helpers against Holy Cross.
Larkin tied a career high with 10 points against Lehigh (5g 5a). In Navy's 5-0 run to open the game against Lehigh, she had a pair of assists, while scoring two goals. The junior scored a goal with three seconds remaining in the first half against Lehigh to cap a run of four goals by Navy in 49 seconds of play. The goal gave her a hat trick in the first half, while she also had two assists during the four-goals in 49 seconds. Larkin chipped in two goals and an assist in the second half against the Mountain Hawks.
Against Holy Cross, Larkin scored all three goals with all four assists in the first half.
Navy returns to action next Saturday as the No. 13 Midshipmen head north to Baltimore for a top-15 matchup with No. 11 Loyola. Opening draw is slated for 3:00 p.m. at the Ridley Athletic Complex. Live stats and live video will be available throughout the game.
